To verify various irrigation and flood control projects, the state irrigation & flood control monitoring cell members led by additional chief engineer Er. Echungbemo Lotha, superintending engineer Er.Njilo Kemp, EE Er. Kughaho and EE Er.Sobu May 16 and 17 visited several project sites under Dimapur division.
According to a statement released by irrigation & flood control, Dimapur division EE Er. Ghukhui Zhimomi, the team verified Atughoki project at Kuhoxu, Amboghoki project at Zuheshe, Keseru project at Seithekima, NTSE project at Serhima, Seitheru project Sovima, Tseipheru project Vedima, Lothavi project at Lothavi, Ura project at Ura and Anibaghoki project at Shitovi under Dimapur division.
During their visit, the monitoring cell members interacted with divisional officers and water users’ association, the statement informed.
The cell members reportedly emphasized on quality works and materials used in construction of the projects. It was also stated the water users’ associations were made to understand that they were the owners of the projects in their respective villages, and that they need to manage and maintain the minor repair works.
The irrigation & flood control, Dimapur division was also directed to strictly abide by the DPR and not to release nay payments unless the implemented projects were up to the satisfaction of the department even if pressurized from any angle.
Corrective measures were also pointed out to the water users’ association and the division for improvement and better outcome of the projects, the Er. Ghukhui Zhimomi said.
