Mild quake rocks Shillong

An earthquake measuring measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale rocked Shillong, the state capital of Meghalaya Tuesday morning, an official said. The tremor was felt at 844 a.m with the epicentre located 60 km from the Regional Seismological Centre in Upper Shillong, the official said. Seismologists consider the seven northeastern states to be the sixth most earthquake-prone belt in the world.
