Advocacy Campaign on HIV and AIDS at Noksen

NNP+ with support from Legislators’ Forum on HIV and AIDS held Advocacy Campaign on HIV and AIDS with key stakeholders on April 29 at Noksen sub division under the theme “Together we can!” with MLA Chuba as guest speaker.
Chuba said HIV should be prevented as there was no medicine to cure the disease and urged key stakeholders to take preventive steps. He also encouraged HIV positive people to access health facilities as proper and timely medication i.e. ART helps HIV positive person to live healthily and prolongs life. The guest speaker also called upon key stakeholders for continual support in mobilizing community for bringing a better response towards prevention, care, treatment and support for people living with HIV and AIDS.
There was a group wise discussion on the topic ‘Role of key stakeholders towards HIV and AIDS response” whereby officials under SDO (C) along with health care providers and political and Church leaders, Dobasis/GBs, village elders, teachers and students actively participated and pledged to take collective venture to bring a positive change in HIV response at their own level. They however highlighted the urgent need of ICTC facility in PHC, Noksen to achieve the goal effectively. The key resource persons included Dr. Ajit, M.O, PHC, Dr. Emmanuel Chang, PHC, Noksen, Lanu Aier, general secretary, Chongtie Shiu, Imti and Longyim Tzudir from NNP+. Altogether, around 250 key stakeholders attended the programme.
