Rhakila for promotion of women entrepreneurs

Chairperson Nagaland State Social Welfare Board, M. Rhakila Lakiumong, on Saturday asserted that promotion of women empowerment was an important agenda and a significant approach towards development of women.
Speaking on the occasion as chief guest at the one day workshop on promotion of women entrepreneur at town hall Tuensang, Rhakila stressed on the need of women empowerment in the state and urged womenfolk to uphold the sanctity of righteousness so as to uplift the society.
She said today women empowerment has became an integral part in processing various activities of society and encouraged women to maintain their rights so as to receive positive response in every developmental aspect. Rhakila said a society benefits when women are supported and empowered. She also stated that though basic training on computer education, tailoring etc., were provided by social welfare department for uplift of women in the state, participation of Tuensang district was not satisfactory. She therefore asked them to focus seriously on the implementation of women benefits.
The chief guest also advised women not to be dependent on others, stating a mother should have the spirit of dedication, control, sacrifice and responsibility for the betterment of family and society.
The resources persons of the workshop were P. Daisy Mezhur, secretary NSSMB Kohima who spoke on understanding women entrepreneur, Ayung Chang on challenge of women entrepreneur, Yimsola Ramji on the development and progress through women entrepreneur and Alula Z. Thsanso shared on why promotion of women entrepreneur.
The workshop was organized by Nagaland State Social Welfare Board, and sponsored by planning and co-ordination department Nagaland under the theme “empowering women through entrepreneurship development’.
