State NCP stated the party was “never consulted officially” by DAN, regarding candidature for upcoming 26 Aonglenden AC. NCP vice president, N. Hotongse Sangtam in a statement said the fact that it was not consulted meant that “NPF has no respect politically for other coalition national parties” and that the question of DAN government did not arise now. It said the by-poll was solely between national and regional party and claimed that the Nagas in general has more than 60% favouring any national parties.
Highlighting the functioning of the party in the state, the NCP said the party set up was dissolved only under Wokha and Longleng districts following the merger of its two elected members, Dr. Chumbern Murry and Pangyu Phom with the NPF. NCP said the party was likely to appoint its president and other office bearers. It said that the party president and office bearers for Tuensang and Mon districts would also be appointed after the by-poll.
