MUK felicitation programme: A felicitation programme organized by Mao Union Kohima will be held on May 8, 3pm at Mao community hall, officers hill Kohima. All successful candidates have been asked to attend the programme with their parents.
ESC and foster SHG, Dimapur meet: A meeting of Emporia Sporting Club (ESC), Dimapur and Foster SHG, Dimapur would be held on May 7, 1pm at its treasurer’s residence. All members of the club and SHG have been requested to attend the meeting.
TDMA’s philanthropic services: In continuation of their good will mission towards humanity, Tuensang District Mother Association (TDMA) extended financial support to orphans unable to get admission in schools. Seeing the condition of poor children, TDMA managed to shell out for the children’s admission fees at various schools and would continue providing fees and other needy through out the year. The people of Tuensang in this connection, lauded the effort made by TDMA.
Successful HSLC candidates informed: All Nagaland Hindi Teachers’ Union (ANHTU) has informed that it would be giving cash prizes and merit certificates to all successful HSLC candidates in top list with distinction in Hindi. SASU meeting: Saptiqa Area Students’ Union (SASU) has convened a meeting on May 7, 10am at the residence of Vihuto Achumi, Electrical colony, Kohima. All executive members, advisors and formers have been requested to attend the meeting.
SAKD meeting: Sumi Aphuyemi Kuqhakulu Dimapur (SAKD) has convened a meeting on May 8, 1pm at the residence of Vikiye Swunetho, banker, Nepali Bosti Dimapur. All jubilee planning board, advisors and office bearers have been requested to attend the meeting.
SLA meeting: Sumi Laghilato Area (SLA), Dimapur has convened a general meeting on May 7, 10am at Western Sumi Hoho Ki, Chekiye village, 3rd Mile. All members, GBs and chairmen have been requested to attend the meeting.
NPF 1 Dimapur I A/C meeting: NPF 1 Dimapur I A/C has convened a meeting on May 7, 12:30pm at its office. All A/C office bearers, frontal organizations, CEC members and divisional office bearers from A/C I have been requested to attend the meeting.
SGKD prayer cum general meeting: Shoixe Ghami Kuqhakulu Dimapur (SGKD) has convened a prayer cum general meeting on May 8 at at the banker’s residence at Vitoshe Ki Thilixu village.
VEC Chen Loisho meeting held: Village Education Committee (VEC) Chen Loisho meeting under DIS Aboi, Mon district was held on March 29 at GMS Chen Loisho attended by members of VEC, teaching staff of GMS, GPS A, B and C and all GBs. In a press statement, Tonching, chairman VEC Chen Loisho informed that the house during the meeting, decided to urge the Director of School Education to appoint one mathematics teacher at GMS Chen Loisho against vacancy caused by R.V. Perumal’s demise, and also post teachers at GPS Chen Loisho Loho, which has been running without any government appointed teachers since 2007.
Dimapur Chuchu union mourns: Langpangkong Senso Telongjem Kohima (LSTK) has mourned the sudden and tragic demise of Kikanungsang, president of Dimapur Chuchuyimlang Union, who passed away on May 2, near Silonijan under Santipur PS. LSTK in a condolence message said late Kikanungsang was an able and sincere leader, whose death has left a vast vacuum and cannot be replaced. LSTK has conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace. Union also wished a speedy and healthy recovery to those who were injured during the tragic accident.
Sunday school teachers’ orientation programme: Northern Angami Christian Revival Children Ministry would conduct a one-day orientation programme for Sunday school teachers on May 7, 10am at CRC Pezielietsie Kohima. The resource persons Keneiselhou Solo, joint secretary ACRCC and Vizovonuo Kense would speak on Biblical concept of teaching with special reference to Sunday school teachers and challenges and strategies of Sunday school teachers in present context. The ministry has invited all Sunday school teachers under NACRCM to attend the programme.
PHK condemns rape on minor: The Pochury Hoho Kiphire (PHK) has expressed surprise over the rape incident which took place at Phek Town on April 29. PHK while condemning the rapist identified as Manao Singh alias Ravohü for raping a minor Pochury girl, said this type of act was totally unacceptable in the present society. Stating it was a direct “insult and humiliation” to the particular family members and community, the Hoho also questioned the law enforcing agency about the safety and security women, particularly minor girls in the society. The Hoho strongly appealed the department in-charge to take stringent action against the rapist with a befitting punishment to curb such incidents in the days to come and called upon intellectuals to come forward and condemn the “satanic act”.
SVC, SYVO condemn kidnapping: Sovima Village Council and Sovima Village Youth Organization (SYVO) have condemned the kidnapping of a head mason and a cook at chief minister’s private residence area, Sovima village on May 2. The council and youth organization expressed intolerance against such anti-social activities and unwanted situation and called upon responsible organizations to condemn such crime prevailing in a Christian state. Meanwhile, SVC and SYVO expressed gratitude to the police force led by SP Dimapur, Z. Mero in tracking down the kidnappers and further appealed the district administration to award befitting punishment to the culprit and other three who are still absconding.
53 ACCC Tuensang exposure tour: The 53 ACCC Tuensang Sadar 1 undertook tour to Kolkatta, Mumbai and Goa as part of its exposure trip from April 16. The exposure trip was led by MLA P. Chuba Chang and wife. The team has appreciated Bosco, ADC to Governor of Goa, Maize PS to Governor to Goa, Sothsangla and Lijingla of Kingfisher Mumbai, Atsula and Sharon Nirvananest Hotel Goa for their hospitality shown towards the team members and MLA P. Chuba Chang for the financial support.
Phonetics and counseling workshop: Noel Manuel, director of Dimensions conducted a phonetics and counseling workshop for the principal and teachers of the school on Monday. Noel called upon the young cadets of Sainik School Punglwa advising them to think early on their careers in life.
Belhonuomia resting shed inaugurated: The Belhonuomia Chapru (resting shed) at Shiisezou, Kohima was formally inaugurated by Viu Belho, advisor Belho Union on April 30. The resting shed was constructed by Belho Union and Belho Youth through the contribution made from members and well wishers. Meanwhile, new office bearers for both the unions and youth body were also elected. Belho Union would be led by Khrietuo as president, Dzieseneituo as vice-president, Kevinguzo as vice-president, Thepfuhulie as general secretary and other members. Belho Youth would be led by Dr. Vizotuolie as president, Ketholhoutuo as vice-president, Ruokuophrelie as general secretary and other office bearers. Belho Union further expressed gratitude to Viu Belho for inaugurating the resting shed and all the members and well wishers for their contribution and cooperation towards all the activities of the union.
NSUK new team: Naga Students’ Union, Kolkata, (NSUK) has elected new team of office bearer. The team would be headed by Johnny Patton (09163041191) as president and Mhechekhro Mero (09903530355) as general secretary.
Verification for pensioners: Senior treasury officer (STO), Kohima (south treasury), Yawgla Jamir has informed pensioners (both live and family) drawing pension from STO, Kohima (south) that physical verification would be held from May 10 to 31 at the office of STO, Kohima(South) during office hours.
B. Ed trainees of NCTE tour: B. Ed trainees of the Nagaland College of Teacher Education (NCTE), 2011 organized a study tour from April 29 and 30 with “Environmental awareness” as the objective. The trainees were divided into four groups under the supervision of a mentor and visited different places including Majuli Island, Kaziranga National Park (Assam) and Cherrapunjee (Meghalaya). The students union of NCTE has thanked the government of Nagaland for financial assistance during the tour, principal of NCTE, Dr. K. Punyii and staff for making necessary arrangement for the study tour.
