Pro-talk United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) leader Mrinal Hazarika on Sunday lashed out at the outfit’s elusive commander-in-chief, Paresh Baruah, and asked him not to disturb the peace talks.
“We have been requesting again and again that he (Paresh Baruah) be at a safe distance and should not disturb the peace process.
Let him give a moral support, let the process move ahead and if the process doesn’t move in the right direction and if the government betrays the people of Assam, people of Assam will once again support Paresh Baruah,” said Hazarika.
“More and more will then join the United Liberation Front of Asom. But till then, he should be quiet,” he added. Baruah, who is against peace talks with the Indian Government, is believed to be hiding somewhere in Myanmar.
According to ANI, senior functionaries of United Liberation Front of Asom led by United Liberation Front of Asom Chairman Arabinda Rajkhowa had entered into unconditional talks with the Central Government to find a solution to issue which has caused violence in Assam for over two decades.
