KTU building inaugurated: Office of the Kuki Tribal Union (KTU) building was inaugurated and dedicated on April 29, at Hebron. The Building was Inaugurated by VS. Atem, Convener Steering Committee, NSCN and dedicated by Rev.Joseph Ruivah prayer Cell Leader, CNC.
Zeliangrong Baudi meeting: Central executive meeting of Zeliangrong Baudi (AMN) has been convened on May 20,10am at Community Hall, Tamenglong; Manipur to discuss some of the current issues that confronts the Zeliangrong community.
CFNBC Kohima organizes jumble sale: The Christ for the Nations Bible College (CFNBC), Kohima on April 7 organised jumble sale at High School junction, Kohima in aid of its Library Building Project. Games stalls, fresh vegetables, new and used items like clothes, shoes, books and variety of edibles were part of the jumble sale. Meanwhile, the principal of the college, Khetoshe Chishi has thanked all friends and well-wishers for donating in cash and kind for the sale.
V.K town students union meeting: Jubilee members and planning committee of V.K. Town Students Union has convened a meeting on May 11 at 10 am at rest house V.K. Town.
DKSU emergency meeting: Dimapur Kyong Students’ Union has convened an emergency executive meeting on May 9 at 11 am at its union office.
Peren contractors meet: Peren District Contractors’ Union (PDCU) has convened a meeting on May 9 at the residence of its general secretary, NR Zeliang, Walford, Dimapur, at 10 am. The meeting would discuss matter relating to the proposed plantation programme at Peren Model township headquarters which would be jointly organisedwith the Zeliang Gazetted Officers’ Forum on May 14.
ASAN new team: Agriculture Students Association of Nagaland (ASAN) has elected its executive team for the tenure 2011-2012. The new ten member team would be headed by Keneiso Belho as president and Lowrence Kithan as the general secretary.
ACCC 41 A/C Tizit party welcomes: ACCC 41 A/C Tizit party has welcomed former veteran NPF members including 20 households of Zanglham village led by Tosa deputy Angh. According to ACCC secretary administration Tizit division C. Epha Viaham, the members joined the INC to strengthen the party under the leadership of NPCC president S.I Jamir and CLP leader Tokheho Yepthomi.
DDCF inform toppers: Dimapur District Citizens’ Forum (DDCF) has informed all HSLC and HSSLC toppers from Dimapur district to submit mark sheet with address and contact number on or before May 16. Toppers are to submit details to Richard Haolai, office secretary (9856326916 or Chandu Agarwal finance secretary (9436003651/03862-232882)
Social work conducted at Tuensang village: The Pilashi, Lomou Kangshou Khel Tuensang village community leader numbering 170 members conducted a mass social work along NPWD on May 7. The members cleared side drains and jungles and landslide area from poultry farm to Tuensang village covering more than four kilometer.
NCTE study tour: B. Ed trainees of the Nagaland College of Teacher Education (NCTE), 2011 organized a study tour on April 29 and 30 with the main objective on “Environmental Awareness”. The trainees were divided into four groups under the supervision of a mentor and visited different places like Majuli Island, Kaziranga National Park and Cherrapunjee (Meghalaya). The students union of NCTE has thanked state government, Principal of NCTE, Dr. K.Punyii and his staff members for extending financial assistance and making necessary arrangement for the study tour.
NPF office bearers visit storm affected areas: NPF 8th Western Angami A/C office bearers visited the storm affected areas under its jurisdiction on May 4 and found that around 65 houses had been damaged by the storm at Khonoma village on May 3. The unit in a press statement issued by Rokovito Kitshu, press secretary NPF 8th Western Angami A/C has urged the government to provide assistance or relief materials to the affected victims.
NPF 5 Ghaspani II A/C holds meeting: Emergency meeting of NPF 5 Ghaspani II A/C party members with leader of youth and women wing was held on May 7 at the residence of former minister Rokonicha, Medziphema town. Exhorting the members, Rokonicha said unlike national parties like Congress (I) where decisions were always taken by high command within the four walls of a room, regional parties like NPF were more democratic in nature where party higher ups regard and respect the decision taken by the lower levels of the party. He also advised the member to maintain party discipline in the larger interest of the party. Also speaking at the meeting, Lamkhothang, retired headmaster and CEC member, said five Kuki villages including Kuki residents in Medziphema town under 5 Ghaspani II A/C were merging into NPF party. The members present at the meeting urged Rokonicha to meet senior party leaders bring more developments in the constituency. The meeting was chaired by Akhoto Kuotsu, president NPF5 Ghaspani II A/C.
