‘World Red Cross day’ observed in Kiphire

Indian Red Cross Society Kiphire on Sunday observed world Red Cross day at the official chamber of DC Kiphire C.M Tsanglao with additional DC Kiphire Murohu Chotso as special guest.
Speaking at the occasion, Murohu said it was a privilege to be the member in one of the biggest society in the world where functions and powers were the same.
Touching on the history and functions of the Red Cross society, Murohu said, the Society came into being at the time of war and now it has extended for all humanity and that being a member in Red Cross was like putting on bullet proof since members are volunteers for humanity.
Stressing on the theme of ‘World Red Cross day’ 2011, Murohu called upon the members to disseminate the purpose of the movement so that friends could also join and make it a mass movement.
Vice chairman and chief medical officer Kiphire Dr. I. Sungit who also spoke on the occasion said, “We live in society and are all social animal so give human touch to the suffering of the people irrespective of cast creed and color”. He also encouraged junior Red Cross member to be proud for being enrolled as a member in an international society.
According a warm welcome to the gathering Hony Secy IRCS Kiphire called upon the members present to imbibe the spirit of volunteering in every possible way for humanity.
Earlier, Junior Red Cross Members from Good Shepherd School Kiphire conveyed a message through a song titled ‘one voice one world’
The program was chaired by Thomas- life member.
