2 killed, 14 injured in road mishap

Two persons were killed and at least 14 others injured when a truck capsized near GREF camp Zubza during the wee hours Sunday. According to police source, a Zunheboto bound truck NL-01A 1992 which was carrying 16 labourers capsized on the NH 29 killing two labourers on the spot while injuring another 14, eight of them seriously. One of the deceased was identified as Doneshwar Rabha (65) hailing from Kanpur, Assam while the other deceased aged around 50 to 60 was yet to be identified till the filing of this report. Police personnel on receiving information at around 1:30 am rushed to the spot and took stock of the situation. All the injured were rushed to Naga Hospital Kohima where eight of them were admitted while the other six were released after administering first aid. The cause of the accident was not yet known as both the driver and the helper had escaped from the accident site. Police, however, suspected it to be a case of rash driving.
