In compliance with the instruction received from the Election Commission of India, general election observer to 26-Aonglenden by-election, Nandadulal Bhakat has taken up scrutiny of Form 17A (Register of voters) and other related documents with election agents of contesting candidates at Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall in the presence of Mokokchung D.C & R.O, Lithrongla G. Chishi on May 8.
Nandadulal thanked the returning officer, Lithrongla G. Chishi and her officials on election duty for leaving no stone unturned for conduct of polling smoothly.
He also thanked the police for providing adequate security arrangements during the polling.
Disclosing that there was no report of incident, he expressed gratitude to all political parties for abiding by directives and instructions of Election Commission.
Describing the polling as peaceful, Lithrongla said there were some elements that tried to create problem during polling in one polling station but were thwarted due to prompt action carried out by district administration and police force.
