Mass social work in Mokokchung town: A mass social work would be conducted in Mokokchung town on May 11 from 6am onward. In this regard, DC, Mokokchung, Lithrongla G. Chishi has informed all head of departments/ward authorities to organize social work in their respective offices and wards on the occasion. DC further directed all heads of offices/controlling officers to take attendance in their respective establishments. For supervision of the public, respective ward chairman were directed to take responsibility for success of the social work. Mokokchung Municipal Council has also been instructed to provide necessary machineries for waste disposal.
Additional videographers for counting duty: In addition to videographers appointed earlier, DC & R.O Mokokchung, Lithrongla G. Chishi has appointed four more videographers for election duty during counting of votes on May 13. Videographers include Tiameren, photographer, (DPRO) Mokokchung, Ongchi, LDA, DC’s Office, Mokokchung, Changsen, BA, DC’s Office, Mokokchung and Jongpongtemjen, (ADC Planning) Mokokchung. All videographers have been directed to attend briefing on May 12, 2pm in the DC’s conference hall.
Kohima Ao officers’ general meeting: Annual general meeting of the Kohima Ao Officers Forum has been convened on May 28 at the residence of its treasurer, Alemtemshi Jamir, additional chief secretary and development commissioner. In this regard, the president of the forum, Imkonglemba, IAS has informed all Ao Gazetted Officers posted in Kohima to attend the meeting. Further all sub-committees are also informed to finalise recommendations/reports to be presented during the meeting.
Kohima DPDB to felicitate: Kohima district planning & development board would be felicitating Sanjay K. Kinimi, son of Khutovi of Government High School, Chunlikha for securing highest aggregate marks in the HSLC examination 2011 amongst the GHS/GHSS under Kohima district. The DPDB–cum-felicitation programme would be held on May 16 at 12:30pm in the conference hall of the deputy commissioner, Kohima. All board members, principal of the school and parents of the successful candidate have been requested to attend the programme.
Orientation program at Chinese Institute Dimapur: The Chinese Institute of Language & Arts and China Study Centre, Dimapur will be conducting an orientation program on May 11, 3.30pm at the Institute, Vikiye centre, Notun Basti Junction, Dimapur. The programme will focus on the importance and benefits of learning Chinese language.

Lighting and capping ceremony: Nagaland para medical institute and school of nursing, Singrijan Dhansiripar road held a lamp lighting and capping ceremony on May 9. Imnanaro, training coordinator school of nursing Naga Hospital, Kohima under GFATM project enlightened and encouraged all nursing students to respect and practice its noble profession.

Twelfth commencement exercises: Twelfth commencement exercises of Shalom Bible Seminary, Sechü-Zubza, was celebrated at the seminary chapel on Sunday, May 8. Altogether 30 students graduated with bachelor of theology, 20 masters of divinity and 2 diplomas in master of divinity. Rev. Dr. Akheto Sema, Principal of Eastern Theological College, Jorhat, graced the occasion as the graduation speaker.

SOVC ban hunting, fishing: Seithekema Old Village Council (SOVC) held its general meeting on March 13 at council hall and re-affirmed its earlier order to ban hunting and fishing. Any person found committing offence within the village jurisdiction would be imposed fine and hunting materials seized, added SOVC.
ASU clarifies on poor result in Kiphire: Anatongre students’ union (ASU) has clarified on the press release issued by DCC Kiphire on poor result at Kiphire. ASU in a reply to the release published in this daily under the headline “On poor result in Kiphire” stated that one out of 5 students passed from GHS Anatongre, and not ‘nil’ as stated by DCC Kiphire.
