DoNER mull air safety issue

The Union DoNER and civil aviation ministries on Tuesday held a meeting to discuss air safety in the northeast.
According to sources, the meeting was convened by union minister for DoNER B K Handique in the backdrop of Khandu’s death and the April 19 chopper crash in Tawang. To mull alternative arrangements in the wake of suspension of Pawan Hans helicopter services in the region following the death of Dorjee Khandu in a chopper crash recently, the meeting was held, officials said.
The DGCA informed that it will conduct a detailed inspection of all critical airports, airfields and helipads within four weeks, officials from DoNER Ministry said.
Alliance Air will be asked to fly more flights to Lilabari – Daily and regular Flights.
DGCA will conduct detailed inspection of all critical airports/airfields and helipads within 4 weeks.
DGCA will also complete Security Audit of all helicopters/aircrafts of all operators and prepare detailed Action Plan within 4 weeks.
Ministry of Civil Aviation is causing a Detailed Study for Complimentary Routes between Fixed Wing and Copter Operations within 15 days.
