Fisheries dept empowering women
DIMAPUR: Commemorating the ‘year of entrepreneurs’, the department of fisheries has been conducting a series of trainings for women folk all over the state. Sensing the need for empowering and equipping women in the fisheries sector, these training programmes have been especially formulated for women under the guidance of the C. Kapfo, director of fisheries and C. Imti Longkumer, deputy director of fisheries and training in-charge. Similarly, a two-day training on value addition of fishery products for women SHG’S/ Societies/ Communities etc” was conducted at Kiphire town on May 5 and 6. Altogether 40 women participants attended the training. The training was conducted successfully under the supervision of DFO Kiphire, Yhunsenlo Kent and resource persons Amenla, DFO Tuensang and Sentinaro, Fishery inspector, Dimapur.
NMA greet nurses
DIMAPUR: Naga Mothers Association (NMA)has extended greetings to all nurses on the occasion of ‘International Nurses Day’ which falls on May 12.
NMA president Abei-ü Meru and joint secretary Sawmi Leyri in a press release has extended gratitude to nurses for all contributions and commitments rendered in serving humanity and also reminded all the nurses they are special people who make the world a better place.
International AIDS candlelight memorial service: Nagaland State AIDS Control Society along with NNP + would be organizing International AIDS Candlelight Memorial service on May 15, 5pm at State Academy Hall, Kohima, on the theme “Touching lives”.
FGN ‘Plebiscite Day’: The ministry of Kilo (Home) affairs (FGN) has informed all its Midam Peyus and region chairmen to observe ‘Plebiscite Day’ on May 16 as per their own convenience and arrangement. Zaleo Sapuh, kilo kilonser (FGN) has requested all the Nagas, well wishers and Churches to join hands and unite in prayer for the historic day.
KUK 28th general session: The 28th general session of the Khiamniungan Union Kohima (KUK) has been convened on May 14, 10:30am at Bamboo Hall, Kisama.
DFoN executive meeting: Dream Foundation of Nagaland (DFoN) has convened an executive meeting with the managing board on May 14, 3pm at the residence of Kakheho (Dennis), Thahekhu.
CBCC executive committee meeting: The Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC) has convened its executive committee meeting spring session on May 17 to 18, from 11am at CBCC Mission Centre T. Chikri, Pfutsero, Phek district, Nagaland.
DMC inform hardware dealers: Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has convened a meeting on May 13, 11am at market rate control cell chamber, DMC to review the rate of cement and Rebar steel rod.
UGT oral interview 2004 (fresh) emergency meeting: An emergency meeting of parents and candidates of under graduate teachers’ oral interview 2004 (fresh) Dimapur would be held on May 13, 10am at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur. 3-Dimapur-III A/C consultative meeting: The 3-Dimapur-III A/C office bearers have convened a consultative meeting on May 13, 10am at Purana bazaar office. KSUD annual general meeting: Khar Students’ Union Dimapur (KSUD) has convened an annual general meeting on May 14, 9am at the residence of its treasurer. All members from Cl-VI to university level have been requested to attend the meeting.
Festival of art: District education officer, Dimapur has informed all government and private schools and colleges that united tribal society with sponsorship from ministry of culture and directorate of Art and Culture, government of Nagaland and logistic support from NEZCC would be organizing Festival of Art to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore Dimapur on May 27-28. DEO informs private school: District education officer (DEO) has inormed all government and private school to strictly maintain the particulars, name of students, parent’s name, and that the date of birth should be same with the birth certificate, school record in CRSH book at the time of admission to Class I as notified by chairman NBSE. If any complication or problem arises, head teacher or teacher in-charge would be held responsible, added DEO.
Teacher’s extempore speech competition: ZIZA self help group, Wokha would be organizing 1st inter school teacher’s extempore speech competition under the theme ‘an effective teacher is always a learner’ on May 14, 10am at LTC hall Wokha. P Zubenthung Humtsoe (ANSTA) vice president Nagaland would be the chief guest.
NSUK informs students: Naga Students’ Union Kolkata (NSUK) in collaboration with leading colleges at Dehradun would be providing admission for forestry, agriculture, pharmacy, biotech, physiotherapy, MLT, microbiology and engineering courses. DMC notifies on formal agreement: DMC has notified allotees of DMC new market, old market, millennium market, Hazi park market to report to DMC office for execution of formal agreement on or before May 31. DMC, CEO, Nikhashe Sema informed those who have already submitted the documents for execution of agreement to collect respective agreement copy from the DMC office on payment of requisite fees. CEO further added that legal course of action would be taken against defaulters and allotment order would be cancelled.
28th International AIDS candlelight memorial service: Dimapur network of people living with HIV and AIDS (DNP+) in collaboration with district AIDS prevention and control unit and partner NGOs would be observing 28th International AIDS candlelight memorial service on May 15, 2pm at IMC hall.
NU declares MA education 2nd, 4th semester result: Nagaland University has declared the provisional result of MA Education second and fourth semester examinations of Nagaland University conducted in the month of October 2010.

Diploma in tools, die making: Assistant general manager-IC, Nagaland Mini Tool Room & Training centre, Dimapur has informed all candidates who applied for admission in ‘diploma in tools & die making’ that last date for submission of application will be May 16. Date of interview will be May 17, 11am at NMTTC, Dimapur.
