Nagaland Civil Secretariat Contract Typist Employees (NCSCTE) has expressed disappointment at the authorities’ in charge with regard to service condition of those who have been serving for more than a decade continuously without any break of service. In a joint press release issued by president and secretary, the NCSCTE stated they were appointed on regular basis and regular pay scale, and that extension of services was purely based on “passing speed test” conducted by competent authorities in the year 1994 and 1996. Subsequently in the year 2001, the association affirmed that the high power committee, home department secretariat administration branch head constituted a selection committee to screen out all the casual/contract stenographers L.D.As and typist serving in Nagaland civil secretariat, where 135 LDAs, 53 stenographers and 110 typist were selected, but demoted from regular scale of pay to fixed pay along with LDAs and stenographers.
All the similar situated fixed pay LDAs and stenographers who had faced selection test in 2001 were regularized and typist were sidelined and deprived without any justification, added NCSCTE. While stating that their representation was yet to be addressed, the association further appealed the authorities in charge to consider the case by initiating for regularization on regular pay scale.
