Managing director N State Cooperative Bank B K Thadani and M K Mandal deputy general manager NABARD Dimapur inaugurated the newly constructed sheds in weekly rural market at Lotovi village in Dimapur on June 9 in the presence of members of village council and marketing committee and the villagers.
It may be mentioned that NABARD Dimapur has sanctioned 10 Rural Haat Projects in Nagaland with grant commitment of `50.00.lakh. The Lotovi market sheds is the third rural haat project sanctioned by NABARD in Dimapur district and of the biggest weekly market in Dimapur.
Meanwhile, the three new market sheds were constructed by Lotovi Village Council with `5 lakh grant assistance from NABARD, Nagaland regional office Dimapur under its Rural Haat (Market) Scheme.
The Rural Haat Scheme aims to develop the marketing infrastructures in the rural areas to provide market outlet to the villagers as well as small traders. Speaking on the occasion, M K Mandal urged the village council to ensure that the marketing sheds were utilized properly. Thadani also requested the council members and farmers to use the bank loan in the most appropriate manner for better livelihood and repay it on time. The function was also attended by G Khup, manager NABARD Dimapur and V K Disong, manager NSCB.
