Stating that it has decided to fully cooperate with the electoral photo identity card (EPIC) and photo electoral roll (PER) exercises, the NPCC has placed several demands before the CEO and CEI.
The NPCC, in a statement issued by its general secretary (admn) Medokul Sophie, demanded the election department to delete all non-photo lists from electoral roll, all duplicate photos, all under-age, by cross checking with 2011 census and unique identity card (UIDC).
Meanwhile, the PCC has directed all its members including DCC, ACCC, village units, town units, ward units and booth level agents to ensure that no proxy photos were allowed and to challenge any doubt on identity.
“They are at liberty to produce proof of their identity by either GBs, VC members, ward members, church certificate etc.,’ informed the NPCC.
Pointing out that no underage photos were allowed, the state Congress said any suspicion of underage should produce proof of birth certificate of HSLC admission card or from respective Church, adding it should tally with Census or be rejected while cross checking. It also directed its members to check 2011 electoral roll and raise objection to all multi-entries and unidentified suspicious voters.
PCC members have also been directed to coordinate with respective ACCC and provide 2011 electoral roll which could be obtained from respective DCs offices or district election officers’ office.
The PCC also directed all its DCCs to monitor performance of PCC and ACCC in their respective districts and report action taken to president NPCC.
It also asked to submit mid-term report along with each polling station number of photograph by July 1 next.
