NPF Farmers Wing president Lanukaba has said the NPCC, after being “pushed into oblivion in the state political spectrum” was exploring “every dubious means to be in the limelight” while referring to the latter’s sharp rejoinder to his defence of home minister Imkong L.Imchen and dubbing of the Congress as “anti-Naga”.
Referring to the word ‘khedi (kheti)’ which the NPCC used to describe him, the NPF Farmers Wing president said it was a “malicious campaign after the ill intent bloodline charges of S.I. Jamir” and on expected lines.
He said the remark was “ a scornful branding of farmers, who are the backbone of Naga society.”
Lanukaba opined that his scanning on the recent statements of the NPCC led to a conclusion that the party was submerged “in a coinage mania” where statements of the NPF were “willfully diverted at ease”.
Lanukaba affirmed that the NPF Farmers Wing “with full responsibility has laid the acts of omission and commission of the NPC, the front runner of the NPCC”. However, he said the NPCC had “skirted the issue” and was in a “sneering spree, which is quite unfortunate.”
He said despite the NPCC going “hammer and tongs” against the NPF, the Farmers Wing was exercising restraint so as to “maintain sanity in public discourse.”
Lanukaba asserted that any day would be a good day when members of the Congress “joint our bandwagon since we do not follow vindictive appeasement” that was not the NPF book. Further he predicted that the days of the state Congress are over as it would collapse in its own contradiction.
