Dobashi’s meet held at Longleng
DIMAPUR: The Longleng district dobashi’s association held a one day seminar on June 14 in the conference hail of deputy commissioner, Longleng. CK Nihekhu Sema, DC Longleng, graced the function as the guest of honor. In his speech, DC urged the DBs to rededicate themselves and uphold the customary laws and deliver justice without biasness while dispensing their duties. The resource persons were Imnanuklo, ES, PBCA Longleng who spoke on the subject of ‘Integrity in the modern administrative system’ and M. Shayung Phom, ADO, Longleng on ‘Administrative responsibility’. The programme was followed by discussion hour and adoption of resolutions.
RTI Act 17 manual version released
Dimapur: Directorate of rural development blocks (DRDB) held a sensitization-cum-interactive session with chief information commissioner and RD department PIOs and APIOs on June 14 at the RD directorate conference hall, Kohima. Lalhuma, chief information commissioner released the RTI Act 17 Manual Version 05, 2011 and congratulated the department and at the same time challenged the officers that they should strive for innovative ways in bringing development at the grass root level. Later, the HODs along with the PDs and BDOs and other officers of RD and SIRD participated in the interactive session, where queries were put forth and challenges and problems in implementing the RTI Act were discussed.
Training on reclamation of acidic soil
Dimapur: A one day farmers training programme on “Reclamation of acidic soil” was conducted at Wokha Town on June 13. The training was organized by the soil and water conservation department. During the training session, T. Chalukumba, DSCO Wokha spoke on the importance of reclamation of acidic soil through application of lime and its benefits and resource person Chibo Yanthan, SDO (SC) spoke on the need of managing soil acidity and application of lime. Altogether 38 farmers from different villages of the district attended the training.
Rodent management training held
DIMAPUR: One day farmers training on rodent management organized by department of agriculture under Noklak sub-division were held at Pangsa old village on June 6. Villagers were briefed on the importance of protecting crops from various pests and diseases for better crop production and productivity and destruction of crops by the rodents. Technical session was led by SDAO who spoke on “Menace of rodents in agriculture” and Bukei AFA who also spoke on “Different technique of rodent control”.
PRSU executive meeting: Peshu Range Students’ Union (PRSU) has convened an executive meeting on June 29, 10am at the residence of its treasurer Puhea, GB Peshu village. All office bearers, executive members and advisors have been requested to attend the meeting.
NPF Shaki unit meeting: NPF Shaki village unit has convened a meeting on June 18, 10am at the residence of Akhimo Khuvung, president NPF Shaki village unit. All members have been requested to attend the meeting.
DDAPU informs Ao pensioners: Dimapur District Ao Pensioners’ Union (DDAPU) has informed all Ao pensioners (except family pensioners) residing within Dimapur district to register themselves as members of DDAPU by paying a registration fees of Rs.25 and annual membership fees of Rs.100 and to contact the finance committee member of their respective sector for registration. JNVST admit card: JNVST admit cards from Class VI are available at District Education Office Wokha. All applicants have been requested to collect it from E. Nzinimo Odyuo, DEO during office hours from June 18.
Evidence meeting: Evidence meeting of the committee on estimates with the departmental representatives of Irrigation and Flood Control department and Social Welfare department has been convened on June 22 at 11am and 12pm respectively at the Nagaland Legislative Assembly committee room. All committee members have been requested to attend the meeting.
WSKH meeting: In regard to forthcoming general session, the Western Sumi Kukami Hoho (WSKH) has convened a meeting on June 18, 10am at Hoho office, Chekiye. All officer bearers, executive members, advisors and area chairman of all the areas under WSKH have been requested to attend the meeting.
Mon DPDB meeting deferred: Mon district planning & development board meeting has been deferred to June 22 at the Conference Hall of deputy commissioner, Mon. The meeting would coincide with felicitation programme of HSLC toppers in Mon district.
CGU dissolved: In an emergency meeting held on June 14 at the residence of the President of Chumukedima Gorkha Union (CGU), executive members and other members had unanimously decided to dissolve Chumukedima Gorkha Union with effect from June 16. CGU informed that any cases or complaints from Gorkha community within Chumukedima jurisdiction would not be entertained.
ENWO presidential meeting: Presidential meeting on Eastern Nagaland Women Organisation has been convened on June 17, 10am. All newly elected office bearers, executive members, advisors, presidents and general secretaries of the six federating units, presidents and general secretaries of the sub ENWO units (Dimapur, Kohima and Mokokchung) and founding members have been informed to attend the meeting.
SSUPCC general meeting: General meeting of Sumi Students Union Public College of Commerce (SSUPCC) has been convened on June 17, 10 a.m. All Sumi students have been informed to attend the meeting.
Wokha farmers’ field day: Farmers field day on potato storage was held on June 6 at new Wokha village. M. Ben Yanthan, agronomist state seed farm, Merapani was the chief guest. Potato storage was also inaugurated at a formal function chaired by district agriculture officer C. Peter Yanthan.
DNSU election: Election of office bearers of Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) has been scheduled on June 23 between 12 and 2pm at Ana Ki building conference hall, Dimapur. Union election commission has informed that nomination paper would be available from its office till June 18. Constituent units have been informed to submit nomination paper between 11 am and 2pm on June 20 and withdrawal of candidature on June 22 till 3pm in the office.
DHFW Kohima informs: Directorate of Health and Family Welfare (DHFW) Kohima have informed all nursing/maternity homes, hospitals, day care centre, polyclinics, clinics, dispensaries, diagnostic units who are registered under Nagaland Care Establishment Act 1997 to renew their license for the period of three (3) years within a month.
Entrepreneur awareness programme: As per the state government’s programme 2010-2011 as ‘Year of entrepreneur’ director of industries and commerce had conducted a two day seminar-cum- workshop on entrepreneur awareness programme in all the district where potential candidates were selected to undergo two weeks training at Guwahati. The directorate informed that upon completion of the training beneficiaries would get financial assistance from the Bank.
ANTA condemns mishandling of a driver: All Nagaland taxi association (ANTA) has condemned the incident on June 13 where three unknown persons mishandled and threatened one local taxi driver while he was returning from Naga hospital after visiting his friend. According to ANTA president Vivor Miachieo, the incident happened below Minister Hill Baptist Higher Secondary School. The miscreants came from one white Maruti van without number plate. Condemning the act, ANTA Kohima unit appealed to the authority to look into the safety of the innocent taxi owners and drivers.
