In a move to promote farmers and to enhance their agriculture production, Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Mokokchung distributed cell phones to 32 farmer friends covering all six blocks in Mokokchung district on June 16 at a function held at DC’s conference hall. According to an official bulletin, ATMA Mokokchung also distributed cell phones to all six Block Technology Managers (BTM) and five subject matter specialists (SMS) at the function.
Deputy commissioner and chairperson, governing body, ATMA, Mokokchung, Lithrongla G. Chishi speaking on the occasion as chief guest said government was doing its best by giving serious thoughts towards promoting the Agri and allied sector and specially for the welfare of farmer friends stating that there would be no agriculture produce in the absence of farmers.
Lithrongla also mentioned that the purpose for giving cell phones to farmer friends was not for their benefit alone but maintained that it would rather benefit the government. She asserted that if government failed to help the farmers, production of food items would surely decline resulting in untold misery to the entire nation.
She further appealed the farmers to make best use of cell phones and work hard with dedication so as to uplift the economy of the state.
At the function the cell phones were distributed to farmers by the chief guest. The second installment of Rs.2000/- as honorarium was also given to farmer friends after the function.
