Closing the quiz and youth parliamentary competition 2011, director ATI Kohima, Abhishek Shashank IAS expressed happiness to see the professionalism and exuberance shown by the students.
Speaking at ATI imagine hall on the concluding day of the parliamentary competition, on June 15, Abhishek wished the best to the state level competition participants and reminded them to fulfill their aim in life and become professional in whatever they aim.
He exhorted them to set their eyes on their goals if they want to become professional in the field of medical science, engineering, law etc. Shashank also gave away the prizes to the winners and participants.
According to an official bulletin, in quiz competition, the first position was won by Hamayang, Christian school, Longleng, Dskhuvei Olysyon from Govt Higher Secondary School, Dimapur and Aroni Jungio, Mt. Tiyi College, Wokha bagged the second and third place respectively. The winners of the quiz Competition were awarded cash prize of `5,000, `3,000 and `2,000 respectively with citation certificates.
Youth parliamentary competition was participated by nine groups and the first position was lifted by Kohima-I (one) scoring 120 points, second rank was bagged by Wokha District scoring 80 points and the third position was awarded to Kohima-II (Group) scoring 75 points. A sum of `12,000 was awarded to Kohima-I (Group) and `10,000 to Wokha and `8,000 to Kohima-II with certificates.
Besides, secretary parliamentary affairs also interacted with teacher’s representatives and selected one student each from the districts according to their performances for excursion outside the state. Secretary said they have plans to meet the Indian top brass and would give a privilege to students to interact with the Indian Parliament Speaker and others, provided they get an appointment.
