Reiterating its earlier representations to the government on teachers’ recruitment policy, the all Nagaland pre-service teachers’ association (ANPSTA) today said it would initiate second phase agitation till demands fulfilled. In a fresh representation to the state comm. & secy., SE & SCERT, the ANPSTA demanded the authority responsible to implement the RTE Act 2009 with immediate effect and appoint teachers inconformity with the norms of NCTE directives. The association also demanded that trained personals be exempted from over age till they enter to the government service and that untrained teachers be invited for teachers’ interview. Besides, ANPSTA also insisted that trained teachers be posted anywhere in the state based on seniority cum merit basis if found qualified. Urging the responsible authority to follow office memorandum vide No.CAB-2/2008, dated Kohima June 25, 2010, the association said it has observed that department has never followed the memo indicating that it was “rubbishing” its own official notification. In another letter, the ANPSTA demanded the revocation of appointment of Nchumbemo Lotha (untrained) to the post of P/T, GPS Yanchujo, Wokha DIS.
