Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) held a meeting with ENSF, ENWO, steering committee members, advisory members of various committees under ENPO, community elders and special invitees on June 15 at Longleng town. A press release issued by Toshi Wungtung, general secretary ENPO said the house unanimously resolved to reaffirm the pursuance of the ENPO statehood demand-- ‘Frontier Nagaland’ as addressed and placed before the government of India. Further, the organizations clarified to government, Naga organizations, groups, communities and individuals that the statehood demand by the ENPO was a peaceful peoples’ movement based on fundamental and democratic values and stands as a vanguard of Naga identity, whether cultural or political and its identity was second to none. Meanwhile ENPO also appealed to all to refrain from misinterpretation and misconception on the issue of a separate statehood demand.
