Dongphi Chokae Okho to felicitate Rev. T. Ovung

Rev. Tssemomo Ovung, the longest surviving Reverend among the Lothas would not be left alone when the world celebrates Father’s Day on June 19.
To mark the occasion, Dongphi Chokae Okho is organizing a felicitation programme for Rev. T. Ovung and all the Lotha Pastors of Dimapur area on Sunday at 4pm.
Hailing from Pyangsa village under Wokha, Rev. T. Ovung, who would turn 110 on August 12, had committed his entire life and had served in various capacitates as evangelist and pastor for 57 years in his early years for the expansion of God’s Kingdom.
Born in 1902, Rev. T. Ovung is married to Thungjano in 1946 and has three siblings, nine grand children and two great- grandchildren.
He received Diploma course in Bible Study, Jorhat in 1944.
After finishing his studies at Jorhat Bible School, he served as Evangelist at Kyong Baptist Ekhumkho Sanrhyu (KBES) from 1944 to 65 and pastor Dimapur Lotha Baptist Church from 1968 to 2002.
It may be mentioned that Dongphi Chokae Okho since its inception in 2008 with its aims and objectives to bring changes in the society and to provide platform to those gifted talented youngsters, has been working tirelessly since its inception. Apart from this, the Okho has been organizing seminars and various activities at various places.
