NIC sensitizes IPR officials
DIMAPUR: The Nagaland information commission held a sensitisation cum interactive session with IPR officials on Saturday at the officers conference hall, IPR directorate. Chief Information Commissioner (CIC), Lalhuma highlighted on the objectives of RTI Act, with a power point presentation, with a view for effective implementation of the Act. Chief Information Commissioner Lalhuma along with state information commissioner Kevinino Meru are sensitising key departments of the State with regard to RTI Act, IPR being the third department. They would be covering approximately 28 departments by the month of September 2011. Commissioner and secretary IPR Nagaland, Temjen Toy, IAS delivered welcome address while joint director & PIO, IPR department Limawati highlighted on RTI implementation in the department with a power point presentation.
aggrieved teacher’s issue sensitive :NSUI
DIMAPUR: National Students Union of India (NSUI) Dimapur unit has demanded immediate response from the minister of school education on aggrieved teacher’s issue.
In a press release issued by Khrozote Kapfo president NSUI, Dimapur unit said the issue was significant and sensitive as it involved “desperate teachers” and “innocent students” whose career was at stake. Further, the union said the SIT which was set up on 2009 and SVC and DVC followed by teacher interview on 2010 has not come up with a proper result, for which the minister should solely take the blame and urged the department in-charge to declare the teachers examination result at the earliest as many schools have been running with shortage of teachers.
Nagaland Art Fusion 2011 grand finale
DIMAPUR: The 7th edition of Nagaland Art Fusion 2011 grand finale would be held at Town Hall under the banner ‘North East Summer Festival’ in celebration of World Music Day on June 20 and 21 from 4pm. Altogether nine bands would be participating where eight bands have been selected through public voting and one through wild card for scoring highest point in screening test.The bands are Hybrid Theory band Chumukedima (wild card), Black creepers Dimapur, D’notes Peren, Meadow Saffron Dimapur, Razzle Dimapur, Black soul Anthem Dimapur, Avancer Mokokchung, Trappist and Switch blade from Kohima.
These selected bands would compete for the winner and runners up title and other categories like group and individual prizes and the winner would represent state on ‘World Music Day’ for the Northeast Art Fusion contest on June 21 at Town hall, Dimapur from 4pm.
Meanwhile, the organizers have requested bands that have not collected their ID cards to collect it before the program.
No band would be allowed to enter the venue without their ID cards. The judges for June 20 evening would be L. Asangba Pongen, bachelor of music in voice from Bangalore; Sosang Lkr, guitarist XTC band; Wapong Imsong, best vocalist in National Hornbill Festival 2010 from Incipit band and for June 21, David Koch from Guwahati Rocka-Rolla café even artist management; Tonmoy Rai Choudhury, drummer of East India Company band and also drummer in Lucid Recess and L. Asang Pongen.

PPK first general meeting: Pughoboto Phughi Kupushukulu (PPK) held its first general meeting on June 12 at the residence of Vikiye Swunatho Nepali Basti Dimapur and has been formed under the nomenclature as Pughoboto Phughi Kupushukulu Dimapur. The union also elected office bearers headed by Daniel as president, Vikiho as general secretary, David A. Swu as banker. The union has further convened its next general meeting on July 10, 3pm at the residence of David A. Swu banker PPKD, 3rd mile.

NPF party workers join Congress: NPF party workers under ward number 22 1 Dimapur-A /C have tendered resignation and decided to join Congress party. The resigned members further declared to support the leadership of MLA and former chief minister K.L Chishi and former DMC chairman Pukhavi Yepthomi.
ACCI Dimapur-1A/C welcomes: ACCI Dimapur-1A/C president Tukuka H. Awomi has tendered resignation from NPF to Congress party and assured to strengthen INC party.
CBOU meeting: City bus owners union (CBOU) Kohima has convened meeting on June 23 at 4 pm at LCS building near Ao church, Kohima.
PSU meeting: President Pochury Students’ Union (PSU) has convened presidential council meeting on June 24,10am at its office (Meluri).
Free- medical camp for students at ICH: In commemoration of Impur Christian Hospital (ICH) Centenary, which will be celebrated in 2012, a free medical camp was conducted for the students of Impur Bible School on June 16 at Impur Christian Hospital. Dr. Limayanger and Dr. Wapang conducted the medical camp where 120 students received free medical treatment.
Dimapur to Tuli Tata Sumo: A new Tata Sumo Service would be operational from June 20 between Dimapur and Tuli. Timing for departure from Dimapur would from 6a.m. and departure from Tuli at 12 noon. ANIEF general meeting: All Nagaland Industrial Entrepreneurs Federation (ANIEF), Kohima has convened a general meeting for industrial entrepreneurs of small scale industrial units throughout the state on June 22, 11:30am at State Red Cross conference hall, P.R. Hill Kohima. The meeting would review the latest position of pending payment cases of both the central transport and capital investment subsidies for the years 2007, 2008 and 2009 and to chalk out further course of action in this regard. All state executive office bearers, district representatives of ANIEF and all the individual selected beneficiaries of transport and capital investment subsidies under the state department of Industries and Commerce have been requested to attend the meeting.
CABPF meeting: Meeting of Chumukedima area Baptist pastors’ fellowship (CABPF) in connection with silver jubilee celebration has been convened on July 20, 10am at the residence of its treasurer, Pastor Akum Yimchungrü Baptist Church. CABPF and assistant, associate pastor’s have been requested to attend the meeting. Further, CABPF has informed pastors unable to attend the meeting to send one deacon.
Result for the post of tele-operator: Dr. Toshevi Sema, director (FW) and mission director (NRHM) has declared the result for the post of tele-operator conducted by directorate of health and family welfare. The selected candidates are: Vihokhu Dominic, Tokhi Kips, Thejanguno Rhutso. Whereas, the names in the waiting list (in order) are Ginpu Kipgen, Mhontso Kinghen, Akangnaro Jamir, Kusalu Demo, Vikuto Ltu, Rechothung Odyuo, Akashe Jakha, Imetoshi.
NSF consultative meet: Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) would be commencing its tour programme and hold consultative meetings from June 20. The Federation in this connection has requested its federating units to make necessary arrangements to hold general consultative meetings with representatives from the frontal civil organisation, stakeholders and prominent individuals of their community in the respective areas. NSF tour will commence from Kohima and Tseminyu on the first day, Wokha and Mokchung on June 21; Zunheboto on June 22, Phek and Meluri on June 23; Ukhrul on June 24; Chandel on June 25; Tamenglong on June 26, Senapati on June 27 and back to Headquarters, Kohima the same day.
