BJP Nagaland executive meeting: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaland has convened its executive meeting on June 22, 11am at conference hall, circuit house Dimapur. The party would also organize a dharna against corruption on June 22, 9am at state party office, Dimapur. M. Chuba state president BJP has requested all state executive members, special invitees, presidents, conveners and general secretaries of the district and cell to participate in the dharna and the meeting. All have been requested to be present at the party office by 8:30am.
CBCDAPF seminar: The Chakesang Baptist Church Dimapur Area Pastor’s Fellowship (CBCDAPF) would be organizing a seminar on June 23 at Chakesang Baprist Church Bade, 8am. All pastors, associate pastors, women’s pastors are requested to attend the seminar.
DSSU joint meeting: Dimapur Sumi Students’ Union (DSSU) has convened a joint meeting on June 21, 2pm at its union banker Notun basti. All unit presidents, representatives of all schools, colleges and sector colonies have been requested to attend the meeting and submit students’ membership fees, conference volunteer’s names and participant’s names.
NPF 38th Wokha inaugurated: Office of Naga People’s Front (NPF) 38th Wokha was inaugurated on June 15 which was followed by a joint meeting. The programme was attended by Dr. Chumben Murry minister for agriculture, NPF president Wokha district, president NPF 37th, 38th and 40th Wokha A/C and village units of NPF 38th Wokha A/C. Further, NPF 38th Wokha A/C has thanked Dr. Shüurhozelie President NPF, Neiphiu Rio chief minister Nagaland and Dr. Chumben Murry minister for agriculture for the new office.
Mass tree plantation drive in Pongching village: In connection with ‘Year of tree plantation’, declared by the forest department, the Pongching Students Union organized a mass tree plantation drive in and around Pongching village on June 13 and 14. The student community took up the challenge to protect the environment and create environmental awareness at the grassroot level. Around 3000 saplings were planted and 200 volunteers participated. Meanwhile, the union has extended its appreciation to CYE, Church, VG, Village council and all people who participated in the two-day tree plantation drive at Pongching village.
Entrepreneurs union formed in Kiphire: Selected entrepreneurs from Kiphire district under ‘Year of entrepreneurs’ declared by state government and beneficiaries under different government agencies existing entrepreneurs/unit held a meeting on June 5. During the meet, the Kiphire district entrepreneurs union was formed. The union unanimously elected Thsingdongri as president and R. L. Rechong as general secretary. The union resolved to support and assist the entrepreneurs and promote entrepreneurship in the district, in co-ordination with government agencies and financial institution.
CCLC officials meet: A meeting of Chokri Chakhesang Literature Committee (CCLC) will be held on June 22 at 10am at private residence of Z. Vadeo, upper Bayavü Kohima. The main agenda will be final drafting of the 2nd edition of Chokri guidebook.
SCERT teacher training: Training for in-service government primary school teachers would be held on June 28. State council of education research and training (SCERT) has informed teachers selected for this training to reach their respective training centre on the first day and that late comers would not be accepted under any circumstances.
Plantation drive in GHSS Jalukie: Staff and students of GHSS Jalukie planted tree saplings in the school complex on June 17 to commemorate world environment day. As many as 3000 pieces of the young saplings were planted. The plantation drive was carried out by S. Lenthang AHM to create awareness among the student community. Principal K. Khawakhrie, school staff and students attended the plantation drive.
Mass social work: Mount View colony, Dimapur would be organizing a mass social work in June 25 from 6am at Mount view colony Dimapur. All residents of the colony have been requested to participate in the social work, failing which stern action would be taken against absentees.
Cleanliness drive cum tree plantation conducted: Elumyo Students’ Union (ESU) conducted a cleanliness drive cum tree plantation on June 11 with a view to promote clean environment. Meanwhile, the cleanliness drive cum tree plantation was sponsored by forest department Wokha division.
WSSU executive council meeting: Western Sumi Students’ Union (WSSU) has convened an executive council meeting on June 22, 10am at the union’s office, Thahekhu. All executives have been requested to attend the meeting.
YSU joint meeting: Yanmhan Students’ Union (YSU) has convened a joint meeting with golden jubilee magazine committee on June 22, 10am at the residence of general secretary, Duncan bosti Dimapur. All executive members have been requested to attend the meeting. Further YSU has invited those interested to submit articles for the jubilee magazine to the jubilee magazine committee by August 30.

Evidence meeting: Oral evidence meeting of estimates committee with departmental representatives of Irrigation and Flood Control and Social Welfare department (NSAP) has been convened on June 22, 11am at the assembly committee room, Kohima. All responsible members have been requested to attend the meeting.
ANSAA general meeting: All Nagaland Sectional Assistant Association (ANSAA), Dimapur unit has convened a general meeting on June 29, 10:30am at PWD (R&B), Road No. II sub division. All sectional assistants under Dimapur zone have been requested to attend the meeting, failing which a fine of `500 would be imposed by the association.
LGBU new team: Lotha GBs Union (LGBU) has elected a new team of office bearers led by M.Y. Ngulie as president, Yihamo Ovung as vice president, Phyophethung Yanthan as general secretary, T. Kenneth Tsopoe as joint secretary and Akhamo Patton as treasurer.
BTSU coordination meeting: Bhandari Town Students’ Union (BTSU) has convened a coordination meeting on June 22, 3pm at the residence of its vice president, Dimapur. All executive members have been requested to attend the meeting. The union further informed that it had undertaken a dustbin project from June 14 to 15 at Bhandari town to ensure clean environment around the town and expressed gratitude to executive, advisors and general public for their cooperation and contribution towards the project.
World Music Day at Dimapur: Dimapur is all set to celebrate ‘World Music Day’ organized by the NEZCC with the rest of the world on June 21, 5:30 pm at IMC Hall, Dimapur. The event would be inaugurated by Alemtemshi Jamir, IAS, additional chief secretary to the government of Nagaland. Five popular bands viz., Abiogenesis Band (Nagaland) Snow White (Shillong), Alice in Wonderland (Kohima), NaadBrahma (Assam), NE Xpress featuring Sonam Sherpa, Dilip Ramachandran (Parikrama) from Delhi would be performing in the event.
Meleangkiur GB refutes BJP’s statement: Clarifying to the statement issued by Bhartiya Janata Party of Tuensang district, the head GB of Meleangkiur village Shokiumong, has stated that, he had never meet the office bearers of BJP nor discussed about his resignation and joining BJP party. Stating that he had no knowledge, Shokiumong further reiterated his stand to support R. Tohanba, parliamentary secretary IPR& Eco, statistic.
VBS at Mt. Sinai Higher Secondary School: The weeklong 2011 Vacation Bible School (VBS) on the theme, “The Power of Prayer” of Chakhesang Baptist Church, Ministers’ Hill Kohima (CBC,MHK) would commence on Tuesday at the Mount Sinai Higher Secondary School, Kohima (MSHSSK) till June 26. The inaugural function would be held on June 21,10am onwards and the grand finale would be held on 26 June, 10 am.
