Govt. designates commissioner

State government has designated commissioner as registrar for enrolment of residents into the unique identification (UID) project of the unique identification authority of India (UIDAI) for Nagaland. The registrar would enroll residents of Nagaland based on demographic and biometric data of individuals by leveraging their existing infrastructure, a government notification said. “The registrar shall enroll residents through UIDAI’s approved enrolment agencies by following protocols, standards, processes and guidelines laid down by the UIDAI,” it said. Commissioner office would function as registrar in the state under the supervision of the planning department, the state nodal department for implementation of UID project in the state.
