Akuluto area PIN number changed
DIMAPUR: The PIN number of Akuluto Town has been changed from 798619 to 798627 by the postal department. Informing this in a press release branch post master, N. Visheto Zhimo has informed the public to take note of the new PIN for future communications and for reference.
Fresh Doyang fish for sale
Dimapur: Department of fisheries, Kohima would be selling fresh Doyang fish at PR Hill junction and high school junction on June 23 from 6:30am to 5:30pm. Changtongya Students Union Kohima has been authorized to sell the fishes at Kohima in order to encourage and motivate the public/businessmen/educated unemployed about the business opportunities in the field of fisheries.
Further, the department would be selling Doyang fishes at the newly inaugurated Retail Fish Market Outlet at Half Nagarjan, Dimapur on June 23 from 7am to 5:30pm.
General public have been requested to avail the opportunity as fresh Doyang fishes are not easily available in Kohima and Dimapur districts.
Irregular govt employees in Zbto
DIMAPUR: Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto, Kiheto Sema and additional deputy commissioner, Robin Zaishwal conducted a surprise visit to all government offices at Zunheboto on June 22. At the visit, attendance of government employees were found to be irregular. ADC also informed that the second phase of surprise visit would be carried out soon.
Abebe Society awareness camp
Dimapur: Abebe Society (NGO) Mesulumi, Phek district organized an awareness camp on baseline survey & mobilization for formation of self help groups (SHG) at Chezami under AHVY scheme on April 29. The camp was sponsored by the office of development commissioner (handicrafts) ministry of textiles Government of India. Kh. Napamacha Singh, LDC (MSEC) Kohima office of the development commissioner (Handicraft) ministry of textiles Government of India graced the occasion as chief guest. He highlighted about the importance of formation of SHG. Lhiwetsolo, chairman Abebe society in his welcome address called for development and up-lift of handicraft artisan.
Noted Assamese poet’s death anniv observed
Dimapur: Dimapur Sahitya Sabha (DSS) on June 20 observed the death anniversary of noted Assamese poet, lyric, writer, singer and actor Bishnu Prasad Rabha. The programme was inaugurated by present DSS president R.S Paswan and secretary K. Kalita. Paswan in his speech emphasized on Bishnu’s contribution to Assamese literature and requested the new generation to emphasize more on literacy. Principal Namghar Higher Secondary School Rajesh Bordoloi and active members of DSS encouraged the gathering with poem recitation. MM Nath, present member of Namghar trust board also stressed on Rabha’s contribution to Assamese literature.
Rodent campaign at Longleng, Tseminyu
Longleng: One day district level farmer’s training awareness campaign (DLFTAC) was held on June 7, 10am at PPC hall Longleng town under the theme ‘Rodent incidence in the district’. Delivering the keynote address, Imtitemjen DAO Longleng said the department was aware of rodent occurrences and were fully prepared to meet its occurrence if informed. Later, the technical session was conducted by Khongam AO DAO office on ‘A detail life history of rodents and their economic damages in field’ and ‘Different method of control measures’. The training was conducted by Samuel Sangtam SMS KVK Yisemyong as the master trainer. 108 farmers attended the training and were distributed Rodenticides (roban and ratol) and leaflets.
Tseminyu: Sub-divisional agriculture officer launched a rodent campaign at Tseminyu town hall on June 21. Athinu Rengma SDAO, Tseminyu chaired the programme, M.N. Shashi A.O. delivered welcome address, Myanthang Patton A.O. Kohima took up technical session and Ndotsu Kent, town council member delivered key note address. Altogether 40 farmers from different villages of the sub-division participated. The programme concluded with distribution of rodenticide and incentives to all participants.
PWOK support 33% women reservation
Dimapur: Pochury Women Organisation Kohima (PWOK) said the 2nd session of its conference was marked with a consensus decision to support 33% women reservation and further appealed to the government of Nagaland to implement the Act at the earliest. PWOK has expressed gratitude to Küsa Fithu, under secretary to the Government of Nagaland; Z. Nyusietho Nyuthe, additional deputy commissioner, Phek; Vitsütho Nyuthe, assistant director Industries and Commerce; Nino Katiry, founding member PWOK and Wachusie Katiry, president Pochury Hoho Kohima for gracing as guest of honour and exhorters respectively during PWOK 7th general conference. PWOK further extended appreciation to one and all for the encouragement and support and also uttered hope for the same even in the days to come.
PWD Colony Panchayat meeting: Emergency executive meeting of PWD Colony Panchayat Kohima has been convened on June 25,5pm at PWD colony Panchayat hall.
EUUN enrolment drive: Educated Unemployed Union Nagaland (EUUN) has announced that it would continue with the enrolment drive. In this connection, the union has asked students of HSLC and above educated unemployed to enroll at the union head office, opposite census office Rokabozu, H.S. road Kohima and submit two passport size photos and 1 stamp size passport and xerox copy of education documents. The union further directed all units to contact the union head office at 9862651903.
‘International day against drug abuse & illicit trafficking’ at Tseminyu: Rengma village council chairman forum, Rengma students’ union & Nagaland users network supported by Nagaland state AIDS control society would be organizing ‘International Day Against Drug Abuse & Illicit trafficking’ 2011 with the theme “Think Health – Not Drugs” on June 26 at 11:30am at Tseminyu town hall. R. Khing, parliamentary secretary, horticulture department would be the chief guest.
PKSU appeal to power department: Potina Kup students’ union (PKSU) Wokha appealed to power department to check power irregularities at Potina Kup village which falls under SDO Sanis.
Ghaspani-II WVU emergency meeting: Ghaspani-II, West Village Union (WVU) has convened an emergency meeting on June 24, 9am at New Socunoma village panchayat hall. All office bearers, VCCs, GBs, women and youth representatives from all respective village members of the union have been requested to attend the meeting.
CKU meeting: Chakhro Khuzama Union (CKU) has convened a meeting on June 25, 10am at the residence of Vito Kera, general secretary, 5th mile Model village.
YTA emergency meeting: Yimchunger Theological Association (YTA) has convened an emergency meeting on June 28, 10am at the residence of R. Throngji, associate pastor YBC Tuensang town. All office bearers, executive members and Yimthriin theological cooperation committee members have been requested to reach Tuensang by June 27.
SUPCC general meeting: Students’ union of Public Commerce College (SUPCC) has convened its 1st general meeting on June 24, 9:45am at B.Com 3year hall.
KSUD general meeting: Kuki Students’ Union Dimapur (KSUD) has convened a general meeting on June 25, 1:30pm at S.M.high school, Half Nagarjan Dimapur. All members and students of the community have been requested to attend the meeting.
ENPU meeting: Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ union (ENPU) has convened a meeting on June 24, 3pm at the residence of its union treasurer.
International day against drug abuse & illicit trafficking at Longleng: Yingli Mission Society would be organizing the international day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking 2011 on the theme ‘Life Does Not Rewind’ on June 26 at NST station Longleng. The function is being supported by district administration, Phomla Hoichem and Longleng Chamber of Commerce.
NRSU meeting: Presidential meeting of Nyiro Range Students Union (NRSU) has been convened on June 25, 10a.m at the residence of its president in Wokha town.
LLRPO joint meeting: Joint meeting of Lotha Lower Range Public Organization (LLRPO) with Kyong Hoho the apex body of Lotha has been convened on June 23, 1pm to deliberate on oil issue at LLRPO head quarter, Town hall Bhandari.
DMC suspends checking of trade license: Chief executive officer Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) Nikashe Sema has informed that in continuation of the DMC order on April, checking of trade license has been suspended till further orders.
MBA result declared: Provisional result of master of business administration (MBA) second and fourth semester examination of Nagaland University has been declared. In the second semester (2010 batch regular), out of 16 students who appeared, 15 student cleared the exam, while in repeaters category (2009 batch) all the 5 candidates who appeared the exam got through. In the fourth semester, 16 students appeared the exam where 9 students passed in first division and 7 students in second division.
DC Kohima convenes meeting: Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, Bei-u Angami has convened a meeting on June 23,12 noon at DC’s Conference Hall, Kohima in connection with mass social work. All colony Panchayat chairmen and GBs, SP Kohima, Commandant 4th NAP Thizama, all administrative officers in the headquarter, DPRO Kohima, convener of advisors KMC, President of contractors and suppliers union and sanitary inspector and KMC have been informed to attend the meeting.

PMEGP interview: PMEGP interview for the year 2011-12 for both DIC and KVIC/NKVIB would be held on June 29, 9am at DC Conference hall, Peren. All candidates have been requested to bring their original documents during interview and that no separate call letter would be issued in this regard.
