Shooting incident condemned

Several local bodies have condemned the May 27 shoot at incident, where some unidentified armed miscreants shot and injured the retired registrar of co-operative societies Nagaland Imtila Jamir at her residence in Kohima, and appealed to the law enforcing agencies to bring to book those responsible soon and award befitting punishment.
In a condemnation note, the Mongsenyimti Senso Kohima union (MSKU) identified the miscreants as one Worshim Tangkhul and his accomplices, and said such “cowardice act” against the innocent citizen portrayed the distorted and imbalance mind that existed in the society. The union also urged the public to eliminate and condemn such acts. Kohima Aor Telongjem (KAT) also condemned the incident and said the heinous act was unfortunate and shameful.
Lower PR hill women union, Kohima said it denounced the “act of cowardice upon hapless womenfolk”.
The Langpangkong Tzukong, condemning the act, appealed to the government to take appropriate measures to stop such “inhuman act.”
Ao students’ conference (AKM), strongly condemning the “cowardice and barbaric act” of the “so called activists of the faction”, cautioned the responsible authority that such act of anti-social element towards innocent citizen of the state needed to be seriously examined.
Watsu Mungdang, Kohima unit, condemning the “assassination attempt” on the life of M. Imtila Jamir by Worshim Tangkhul and his accomplice belonging to certain underground organisation, urged upon the law enforcing agencies to leave no stone unturned towards arresting the two miscreants. The Mungdang further urged the underground factions to rein in such rogue and indiscipline members.
