Army’s MI, police nab arms dealer

The arrest of an alleged arms racketeer Raju Timung, a KPLT cadre on May 30 was carried out by the army’s military intelligence (MI) unit along with Dimapur police.
In a communiqué, the MI unit, Gajaraj corps claimed that the entire operation was based on specific inputs provided by the MI unit. The 5 Raj Rifle was not involved in the operation as reported earlier.
“The main KPLT cadre involved in supplying of weapons has been arrested and another accomplice who use to setup arms deal for KPLT in Dimapur is now on the run” the MI unit said.
It also disclosed that Timung confessed about his previous involvements in supply of weapons to the KPLT outfit, the latest being delivery of an SLR weapon about 10 days back. Timung was apprehended along with one M-16 and large cache of ammunition etc. near Dimapur border.
