Parliamentary secretary for geology & mining, irrigation & flood control, border affairs, Y. Patton graced the annual general session of Kohima Lotha Eloe Ekhung (KLEE) as the chief guest on May 31 at state academy hall Kohima. Addressing the Lotha women Kohima town, Patton stressed on vital role to be played by the women folk in the domestic affairs and in upbringing children in the right perspective. He also lauded women for the positive role have played in controlling substance abuse, politicians etc.
Further, he encouraged the KLEE to organize exposure trips to other states and countries so that they could learn more about the role of women in other parts of the globe. The chief guest congratulated Khyodeno Mozhüi and Athungbeni Ngullie, the meritorious female students of Kohima town in the HSLC & HSSLC exam 2011 and wished them good luck and blessing in their future endeavours.
The chief guest donated one lakh towards the KLEE fund and also gave financial assistant to the cultural troupes and participants during the KLEE General Session.Highlights of the programme included presentation of cultural songs by the Cuckoo Cultural troupe Kohima, Kohima Yikhum Okho and a special number by Narsen Tsopoe.
