Tening Town Youth Organisation (TTYO) under Peren district has decried the step-motherly treatment of power department under whose attitude the people of the area are made to endure perpetual power cuts under any weather conditions. In a letter to chief engineer, department of power, Youth president Maizinlakbo questioned the department over non-functioning of the new 33 KV transformer which was installed three years ago at Tening town. It has asked the department to enlighten the public on the reason whether there was technical problem or interference of certain individual for the delay.
The Youth Organisaton has also questioned the department for non-deployment of staff who were transferred from the area in the last two - three years. It claimed that 21 villages including two major towns has been managed by a lone trained personnel.
To relieve the lone trained personnel and in the interest of the public, the Youth Organisation has appealed the department to create a post of linemen at the earliest. The organisation has also resented that not a single complete development could be seen in the area since the formation of Tening town for the last 47 years.
