KMC joint meeting: Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has convened a joint meeting with all the chairmen and secretaries of Panchayat representatives of youth and women organizations and GBs of Kohima on June 6, 11am at KMC conference hall. The meeting has been convened in connection with introduction of sanitation fee as proposed by the state government per household kitchen within Kohima Municipal jurisdiction. KMC has requested the members to come prepared with views and suggestions.
Governor’s felicitation program: All toppers of HSLC and HSSLC examination 2011 have been informed to attend the felicitation programme organized by Governor of Nagaland at Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan Kohima on June 9, 11am.
CSUK felicitation program: Chakhesang Students Union Kohima (CSUK) would be organizing a felicitation cum fresher’s social meet on June 4, 10am at Chakhesang Baptist Church Kitsubozou conference hall. Kewetso Mero, DIG (Hq) and president CGOF and Rozelle Mero, managing director, The People Channel would be the chief guest and guest speaker respectively
Kohima GBs meeting: An emergency meeting of the Kohima District GB Association office bearers would be held on June 8, 10am at the residence of Kuoseithie Solo, vice president at Mission Compound, Kohima. All office bearers have been asked to attend the meeting.
NKVIB Chozouba PMEGP forms: Executive officer of NKVIB Chozouba, K.T. Rengma has informed that PMEGP application forms will be issued on June 6 and 7. All applicants have been asked to submit two passport photographs and forms before June 17.
OPSRC foundation day: Operation Salvage Rehabilitation Centre (OPSRC) would be observing its foundation day on the June 7, 10am at Heningkunglwa, Peren. EAC Chumukedima inform Diphupar ‘B’ head GBs: Extra Assistant Commissioner, Chumukedima in a letter dated June 1 has directed the head GB of Diphupar ‘B’ village to immediately submit the list of new team of village GBs for the next five years term to the office of EAC Chumukedima on or before June 10. Failing which the head GB would be responsible for any adverse consequences, EAC added.
Tagore prize distribution ceremony: The prize distribution ceremony of the ‘Festival of arts’ would be held on June 4 at State Academy Hall, Kohima with director art and culture, K. Kughazhe Yeputhomi as chief guest.
WTMU general meeting: Wokha Town Mungya Union (WTMU) has convened a general meeting on June 4, 3pm at LTC Hall, Wokha town. All members have been requested to attend the meeting.
KVYO meeting: The Kohima Village Youth Organization (KVYO) will be holding a meeting on June 5, 11am at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Yakukie P. Khel, Kohima village near BSF camp Keyakie. The meet would deliberate various topics pertaining to its citizens. In this regard, all youth members living outside the village have been requested to attend positively and discuss agendas that may contribute positively or are seen to be affecting the village negatively.
AMK new team: Angamimiapfü Mechü Krotho (AMK) has elected new team of office bearers for term 2011-2014 headed with Salhoutunuo Kruse as president, Khriezono Lhousa and Khrienuo Mary Kesiezie-vice presidents and Avonuo Theünuo as general secretary. Meanwhile, Angami Women Organization (AWO) in its general conference gave approval for Angamimiapfü Mechü Krotho (AMK) nomenclature.
MTK flays murder attempt: Metha Thinuo Krotho (MTK) head quarter Kohima has condemned the murder attempt on the life of Neibu Metha on April 21 night by Avizo Richa s/o Ade Richa of Jakhama Village and Ngaba Chang s/o Thongba Chang. The Metha Thinuo Krotho urged the law enforcing agency to book the culprits with stringent law so as to deter others from repeating the same crime.
HASSU: Highway Area Sumi Students’ Union (HASSU) has convened a meeting on June 4, 2pm at the residence of Vikato S Aye, president HASSU, Chekiye village Dimapur. All executives have been requested to attend the meeting.
SAKD meeting: Sumi Aphuyemi Kuqhakulu Dimapur (SAKD) has convened a meeting on June 5, 2pm at the residence of Y. Vikheho Swu, Thilixu village block no. 5, near Zoological park Dimapur. All jubilee planning board, office bearers, village representatives and advisors have been requested to attend the meeting.
VVSSU: Valley View Sumi Students’ Union (VVSSU) would be organizing a felicitation program for HSLC and HSSLC students on June 3, 4:30pm at Valley View Sumi Baptist Church, Full Nagarjan Dimapur. All members and parents have been requested to attend the programme.
Meeting of teachers under scrutiny: General meeting of the all those teachers who are under the scrutiny by the education department would be held on June 4 at 2:30 pm at ISBT Purana Bazaar.
LGBU Dimapur anniversary: Lotha GBs Union (LGBU) has convened its 6th anniversary celebration on June 11, 9:30 am at Lotha Hoho Ki. All GBs have been requested to attend the meeting.
SSUDGC elects new office bearers: Sumi Students’ Union Dimapur Government College (SSUDGC) has elected new office bearers for the tenure 2011 – 2012 headed by Nupato K. Chishi as president and Tokato Sumi as general secretary.
ATWD: Adhoc Teachers Wokha District (ATWD) has extended support to Tuensang District Adhoc Teachers Association (TDATA) demand against the “step motherly treatment” by the government. ATWD appreciated TDATA for their initiative on behalf of all adhoc teachers in general.
DPU 59th ‘Phom Day’: Dimapur Phom Union (DPU) has informed that it will be celebrating the 59th ‘Phom Day’ on June 6, 11am at the residence of B. Heang Phom, union treasurer, Walford colony Dimapur. All members and students have been requested to attend the programme.
EPIC at Viswema village: Zheri Panchayat Viswema Village (ZPVV) has informed all the electors of Z. Khel polling station No. 1&2 of Viswema village under 15th S.A. BS&G ‘World Environment Day’: Wokha District BS&G would be observing plantation and trekking cum ‘World Environment Day’ in celebration of forthcoming World Girls Guiding Centenary 2012 on June 4 at Mount Tiyi college campus Wokha and Doyang Hydro project, Doyang Wokha District. In this regard, H. Orenbomo Ngullie, District Organizing Commissioner, (S) Wokha has requested all Scouts and Guides of selected schools to reach the Mount Tiyi College (MTC) campus latest by 7am. The programme would be graced by Y. Lotha DFO Doyang as chief guest and Chubatola Longumer, principal Mt. Tiyi College, Wokha cum vice president as speaker.
Phek unit LPD beneficiaries training: All the selected candidates under Phek unit Livestock and Poultry Development (LPD) 2010-11 have been informed to attend the training programme on June 8, 10am at the office hall of district veterinary officer, Phek.
CCI meeting: Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industries (DCCI) has informed all executive members of the frontal business organisations of DCCI to attend the meeting for election of office bearers of DCCI on June 5, 3pm at conference hall of Hotel Saramati.
BSU, BTWH, BTC plea to general manager BSNL: Baghty Students’ Union (BSU), Baghty Town Women Hoho (BTWH), Baghty Town Council (BTC) have expressed grievances and undue hardship faced due to frequent failure of BSNL network system at Baghty town, Wokha district. In a press release, the unions said the condition have deteriorated from bad to worse because of the condemned machineries and improper functioning of the office. They further said the public have been facing the problem for past several months and appealed the authority in-charge to look into the matter.
DRDAs project directors meeting: Programme review meeting of project directors of DRDAs was held on May 30 at RD guest house, Dimapur. In his welcome address, Metsubo Jamir, director RD appreciated parliamentary secretary RD, S. Pangnyu Phom for gracing the meeting with his presence despite ill health. Pangnyu highlighted the benefits of the different initiatives taken by the state with the central government. While appreciating the efforts of the officers, he also requested the officers to be sincere and dedicated for the welfare of rural poor. During the meeting, all the centrally sponsored schemes were reviewed.
Awareness programme on first aid: The office of the chief medical officer, Dimapur conducted an “Awareness Programme on First Aid” through Dr. Watizulu Jamir and Dr. Kavito Zhimomi at Dimapur Depot, Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Signal Basti on June 2. The program mainly stressed on how to respond to emergencies at the work place before professional medical help is given. All officers and staff of Dimapur Depot successfully attended the programme.
ANPSA Wokha unit condemns rape: All Nagaland Private Schools Association (ANPSA) Wokha unit has vehemently condemned the rape attempt on a minor girl on May 23 at Wokha town by one Yanremo. Condemning the incident, the association, has appealed to the law enforcing agencies to award befitting punishment to the culprit as per the law and also urged all the citizens to condemn such shameless act.
CTC reminds vendors: In regard to prohibition of business by petty vendors within the perimeter of Chumukedima Town Council (CTC) reserved land along the stretch of National Highway and collection of illegal taxes by land owners and unions, the CTC has reminded all responsible to desist from such activities from the date of issue of this notice. Informing this in a press release, Thepfulhoutuo Shuya, chief advisor CTC also said violator (s) would be strictly dealt with as per the provision of appropriate law.
NCSU Phek office: Phek district Nagaland Contractors and Suppliers’ Union in its meeting on May 31 at Hotel Fira unanimously decided to open its office at district headquarter Phek on June 10. All registered members of NCSU Phek have been asked to attend the inauguration programme. During the meeting, NCSU Phek also resolved to tour Phek for spot verification of contractors implementing work under Phek district, to check on workmanship, validity of membership registration and also prohibit passing of writing pad to non-registered members. Further, the union inducted action committee members comprising Chosanyi as convener, C.H. Ahien, Thübo-o Demo, Panyi Movi and Ariyi Nienu.
FGN terminates one: Federal Government of Nagaland has appealed to all HODs/DDOs and business establishments in Kohima town not to entertain or recognize Kesosieo Angami, a ‘self-styled’ cadre, impersonating and claiming himself as Tatar of the Angami region. FGN in a press note issued by G. Zhimomi, joint secretary Ministry of Rali Wali FGN said Kesosieo has been collecting taxes/revenues in Kohima town in the name of FGN. FGN further clarified Kesosieo never been appointed as Tatar under FGN and due to his irreparable conduct as well as antigovernment activities, he was discharged from national service on February 4 last. FGN said anyone dealing with him in matters of financial transactions shall be doing so at his/her own risk and shall claim the same by the FGN who pays him. Meanwhile, FGN has reminded Kesosieo to appear and apologize before the government or to face serious consequences.
CSU ILP verification and tree plantation: Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) would pursue the 3rd phase of Inner Line Permit (ILP) verification of non-locals residing/settling within the Chakhesang inhabited area from June 6 to 9 at various camp offices at Phek town, Pfutsero town, Chozuba town. CSU has requested all the units to identify the non-locals and bring along the name list to the nearest camp office. CSU added its executives would check the ILP at any time and if any unregistered non-local was found in any jurisdiction, then the union would take action against the responsible unit. Meanwhile, all the non-locals have been requested to produce the original ILP and students ILP card along with a photocopy of ILP and two recent passports within the stipulated date from 8am and any non-local failing to turn-up for verification would be strictly dealt with. CSU also informed all affiliated units to implement the 2nd phase of ‘Tree Plantation week’ in the month of June and to submit its report/record of implementation to the office of the CSU. Further the officials would verify and investigate from time to time and authenticate the best five units as per the resolution.
