8 villages receive electricity under RVE

The ministry of new and renewable energy (MNRE), government of India During the 11th five year plan has targeted to supply electricity to 10,000 villages in the country under Remote Village Electrification (RVE) programme, through renewable energy sources.
Accordingly, eight remote un-electrify villages under Peren district namely: Salhem, Phaikholum, New Soget, Old Soget, Songngou, Lower Sunjol “A”, Khelma, Songngou village has been taking up under this project as 1st phase during 2010-11.
According to Robert H. Singson, the project was successfully commissioned by March 14 where all standing households have been electrified through Solar Photovoltaic (SPV) Home lighting System of Model-II and through department of new & renewable energy (MNRE), Govt. of India.
GBs of eight village beneficiaries of RVE under Khelma area have extended gratitude to Er. T. S. Angami, Director (NRE) and Er. Kavito Chishi, joint director (NRE) for their support in bringing the project and Er. Inaho P. Awomi, project officer, in-charge of RVE, directorate of New and Renewable Energy Nagaland and his team who worked tirelessly to install the devices.
