RNAIANM/FHW meeting held, elects new team
DIMAPUR: Unemployed RNAIANM/FHW held its emergency meeting on June 2 and elected its new members headed by president Abeni and general secretary Limanungla.
The association also resolved to collect yearly membership fee.
DIMAPUR: The 59th Phom Day cum state road show would be celebrated on June 6 at public ground, Longleng with parliamentary secretary for IPR and economics & statistic, R. Tohanba as chief guest.
Parliamentary Secretary RD and REPA, Pangnyu Phom would deliver Phom Day greetings while re-affirmation and Phom Day oath would be done by executive secretary PBCA, Y. Nuklu. Awards in Academic Excellence for 2011 would also be presented at the function.
The inaugural programme would be followed by display of indigenous food and handicrafts products at various stalls. Various cultural dances and songs will be performed by different cultural troupes including a troupe from Assam.
RTI ACT 2005 trg underway at ATI
DIMAPUR: Three-day Right to Information Act training for DAA, PIOs and APIOs got underway from June 2 at ATI Kohima. The inaugural programme was conducted by Dr. Hovithal Sothu State Coordinator DMC and Nodal Officer RTI Act 2005.
He gave a power point presentation focusing on the guidelines about RTI Act. W. Ezung dwelt on subject ‘steps for disposal of request’ followed by interaction with officer. Around 40 representatives from different departments in the state are attending the training.
Meeting on Ombudsmen: Parliamentary Secretary RD and REPA, Pangnyu Phom would be addressing project directors, DRDAs and Ombudsmen of MGNREGA on June 9,11am at a meeting on Hotel Japfu Kohima to would discuss issues relating to Ombudsmen and grievances re-dressal matter.
Zunheboto DPDB meeting deferred: Monthly District Planning & Development Board meeting of Zunheboto district has been postponed to June 9. DC Zunheboto has requested all heads of offices of the district to note the change of date and attend the meeting.
NGA consultative meet: A consultative meet of Nagaland Gorkha Association (NGA) would be held on June 5, 11am at Gorkha Public Panchayat Hall, Kohima. Delegates from all districts of Nagaland including students, women representatives, social workers and leading citizens of the Gorkha community are attending the meeting. The NGA also invites all individuals who are interested in the welfare of the community to attend the said meeting to contribute and share ideas and to make the meet a huge success.
GM DIC Kiphire on PMEGP forms: General manager, District Industries Centre (DIC) Kiphire has informed that forms for PMEGP scheme 2011-12 would be issued on June 8-9 during office hours. Interested candidates have been requested to collect the forms from office.
Platinum jubilee celebration meeting: A general meeting for the coming platinum jubilee celebration of Akuk Village Baptist Church has been convened on June 11, from 7am at Akuk Baptist Church building. All responsible Akuk people residing in places, irrespective of villages, towns and cities have been requested to attend the meeting. USSC 5th presidential meeting: United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC) has convened its 5th presidential meeting on June 17 at Tsarü village. All area and local unit presidents have been requested to reach the venue by June 16, and office bearers, secretaries and executive members of USCC by June15. Poultry farmers notified: Director of Veterinary and AH, Kohima has informed all public and private poultry farmers to stop practicing starvation force molt regime. Informing this in a press statement issued by Dr. L.S. Moses, director of Veterinary and AH Kohima said the practice of starvation force molt regime was a punishable offence as per the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1960.
Clarification from Zeliangrong region NNC president: NNC Zeliangrong region president Kiwang Pame on June 3 has withdrawn his “witness signature” on the allegation paper against V.P. Kiumukam dated May 1. In a press statement issued by Kiwang Pame, it was mentioned the withdrawal came due to lack of proof and evidence.
Bus service between Mon-Longwa: For the convenience of public, the Nagaland State Transport has introduced a new bus service between Mon-Longwa daily covering a route length of 45 kms with effect from April 17. Nagaland State Transport Dimapur general manager in a press statement said the service would ply with service number 473 UP from Mon-Longwa and 474 DN from Longwa-Mon.
KMC on trade license fees: Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has informed business community within Kohima Municipality that enhancement of trade license fees by 15% from the existing rate has been kept in abeyance till further order. This was informed in a press release issued by Alun Hangsing, administrator KMC.
ZSU (N) felicitation programme: Zeliangrong Student Union (ZSU) would be organizing a felicitation program for all the toppers and meritorious students of HSLC and HSSLC on June 11 at 11am at Baudi hall, Jalukie. All toppers and meritorious students of HSLC and HSSLC, presidents and secretaries of all the units, senior leaders, head masters/ principals of both private and government schools have been requested to attend the program.
Contraband, banned drugs seized: Excise narcotic enforcement duty party led by Thathang, AIE; Ikiho, H/c and constables Senka and Khetoshe seized 210 kgs of contraband ganja from Pherima NH 29 on June 1. Informing this in a press statement, deputy commissioner of excise (NC), Dimapur said, in this connection, two persons Sede Luho S/o Kevi Luho and T. James S/o P. Tao were arrested and further remanded to judicial custody under relevant section of NDPS Act 1985. On May 25 the excise narcotic enforcement duty party also seized 1857 capsules of Spasmo proxyvon and arrested one person from Diphupar and remanded to judicial custody under relevant section of Drugs and Cosmetic Act 1940.
