Despite searing heat of Dimapur, Baba Ramdev’s die-hard supporters assembled at Patanjali Yog Samiti Bharat Swabhiman Trust, Dimapur office to support Ramdev’s fight against corruption.
Showing their symbolic support, around 40 people on Saturday morning assembled at the trust office in Dimapur as yoga guru Baba Ramdev went ahead with his fast against corruption and black money amid tight security.
The yoga guru decided to go ahead with the fast after a meeting with the government representatives Friday failed to reach a compromise over the demands he has raised against graft practices in India.
The yoga guru also appealed to the government to take urgent steps to bring back black money stashed away abroad by Indians and also take effective measures to curb rampant graft in the country.
Speaking to this reporter, R.K. Nair, Rajyaprabhari Patanjali Yog Samiti Bharat Swabhiman Trust, Dimapur said a team of 20 people led by Dilip Bhagat, district president Patanjali Yog Samiti Bharat Swabhiman Trust went to Delhi to join Baba Ramdev’s campaign and would be there as long as Ramdev continues with his Satyagraha.
He described Baba Ramdev as a truthful person and urged public to support him and join in his fight against corruption. Nair also said Patanjali Yog Samiti Bharat Swabhiman Trust, Dimapur is not a religious organization but a social organization and felt the local populace should join in to bring changes in the society.
“We are expecting changes in Nagaland, though at a slow rate, but definitely changes will happen and more developments would flourish”, Nair said.
It may be mentioned that Patanjali Yog Samiti Bharat Swabhiman Trust, Dimapur organized the fast on Saturday which was participated by its members, Helpers Club and well wishers in Dimapur.
