Star Cement Ladies Club observes ‘World Environment Day’

The Star Cement Ladies Club, comprising wives of Star Cement Dealers celebrated World Environment Day on Saturday with a host of activities like sapling plantation and a drawing competition at the Deaf and Dumb School, Kahilipara among its students.
The saplings were planted by Star Cement Ladies Club members and the school students and staff inside the school campus. The program was attended by a large number of Star Cement Ladies Club members. The members of the Star Cement Ladies Club distributed the prizes among winners of the drawing competition. Later on the Club members shared views on the importance of World Environment Day, green house effect, global warming etc.
On this occasion Jyoti Agarwal, vice-president, Sales and marketing, stated that protection of the environment one of the priorities of the organization and Star Cement has been conducting various programs focusing on nature conservation since its inception.
Spokesperson of the Star Cement Ladies Club said the idea of having a drawing competition amongst students was that being deaf or dumb or both, they have great capacity in expressing their views and feelings through paintings and the true ethos of their emotions can only be captured through this form.
