ATAN meeting
DIMAPUR: Aggrieved Teachers Association Nagaland (ATAN) has considered the plea of its members to hold a general meeting schedule on June 10 at 4pm at ISBT, Dimapur.
The meeting has been convened pertaining to the delay of examiners result and verdict for the remaining teachers, ATAN said. In a press statement, ATAN pointed out that there was no reason to withhold the result/verdict any further as the government functionaries have given their consent and sufficient time was given to complete the process, and also state home minister has appended his signature for approval.
ATAN said the department in-charge would be held responsibilities in case of any eventuality befalls to its members before the result/verdict was delivered.
St. PCC, meeting
DIMAPUR: St. Peters Catholic Church (PCC) has convened its 8th golden jubilee committee meeting on June 11, 9am at Old Riphyim Catholic Church.
All committees have been requested to submit latest reports of committee development for discussion.
GM, DIC office Mon informs on PMEGP: Application forms for Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) Scheme, for Mon would be issued from June 6 at DIC Office, Mon during office hours. The application forms will be issued on submission of 2 (two) nos. of passport photos. The application forms along with Educational Qualification certificate; Residential Certificate from village council/town chairman/administrative officer for identity; relevant certificate such as ST/SC/Indigenous/Backward certificate/birth certificate/unemployment certificate/etc., should be submitted on or before June 13.
LSU elects new representatives: Litsami Students’ Union (LSU) has elected new representative in different sub units as Dimapur unit: Holohoto H. Khala, Tohu S. Chishi, Grace K.Chishi, Honoli H. Chishi, Kohima unit: Zakato N. Chishi, Tsavikali K. Assumi, Zunheboto unit: Akaito V. Chishi, Piketo K. Chishi, Akai N. Chishi, Khetokali Y. Aye, Atoizu unit: Vikito G. Chishi, Zakato K. Chishi and Asukuto unit: Hotopu K.Chishi, Holito H. Chishi.
NSTRSU new office bearers: Nagaland State Transport Running Staff Union (NSTRSU) have selected new office bearers for the tenure 2011-13. The team would be led by led by president Vimedo Chase Angami, general secretary R. Loyamba Yimchungar and other office bearers.
Dimensions to launch 38th publication: Dimensions - School of Phonetics and Spoken English a unit of the Dimensions Institute for Education and Research would launch its 38th publication ‘An Easy Approach To Phonetics’ shortly. Director DIER Noel Manuel said the book would come along with a video CD to assist learners in the audio and visual approach to learning. Meanwhile, Dimensions would be organizing a workshop ‘Language is the key to career development on June 11 at Dimensions Naharbari Centre, Dimapur and the last date for registration is on June 8.
One day farmers training for implementation of oil seeds: One day farmers training for implementation of oil seeds and development during kharif season were conducted at Kandinu village Phanchayat hall on May 30. Altogether 42 participants attended the training. Delivering the keynote address, Athinu Rengma SDAO Tseminyu proposed that Kandinu area be declared as soyabean zone due to the suitability of the soil. Resource person Rhuzuthang spoke on the method for cultivation of soyabean and measures to control pest and diseases. The program ended with distribution of soybean seeds and rodenticide to all the participants.
6th module ASHA training held: The 6th module ASHA training for Dimapur block was held from May 24 to 28 at DTLC, Dimapur. Rebeka Khongsai, staff nurse and Kezieneino, ASAH coordinator were the resource persons. The training mainly focused on skills up gradation of ASHAs to manage pregnant women, identification of pregnancy related complications, handling new born baby and practical sessions such as measuring the temperature of a new born baby, hand washing and others were conducted. The training also incorporated home visits where trainees visited pregnant mother and new born babies to gain first hand information and experience.
Congress party workers join NPF: 61 Congress households of the Hurong village under 59 A/C NPF Seyochung-Simiti had recently been dissolved to join the NPF party led by David Thingchum Sangtam former secretary NPCC and secretary vigilance AYC, Lirichum president area youth, Tsapizi head /GB and Tsayangse chairman village council. According to 59 A/C NPF working president Tsathrise Sangtam, the former Congress party workers declared to support MLA and chairman NSMDC C. Kipili Sangtam.
Entrepreneurship, skill dev prog: An entrepreneurship skill and development programme on motor cycle repairing was held from from March 31 to May 30. The programme was sponsored by ministry of micro small and medium enterprise, conducted by Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) Guwahati in association with Rudichulare MPCS Mokokchung. Attended by 30 unemployed youth, the training was conducted by various resource persons on both theory and practical sessions. Odinenla Longchar on behalf of Rudiculare MPCS thanked micro small and medium enterprise, the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship of Guwahati for their guidance and support through whose effort, the training programme was organized for unemployed youth.
Zeliangrong newspaper launched: Zeliangrong newspaper, entitled “Pawan Rahaa” and “Peting Rahaa” was launched on May 28 at Jalukie town. “We have a good number of professionals and bureaucrats in Zeliangrong forums and social networking sites like facebook who, although thousands of miles away, are very concerned for the welfare of our community. We have an intact coordination with them”, Athui Zeliang, Editor for Pawan Rahaa stated.The editors and advisors of Zeliangrong News has thanked planning minister TR Zeliang, S.I Jamir President NPCC, Benjamin Newmai Secretary to Govt. of Nagaland, Awangbou Newmai MLA 52 A/c Tamei, Kuchi Rangkau Director Hi-Tech constructions, Kelei Zeliang Secretary, Iherie Ndang SP Peren, P.F Zeliang DIGP, DK Zeliang Former PCCF, Tarie Zeliang MLA 6th A/C Tenning, Asingbou Newmai Assistant Hydrologist Govt. of Nagaland, Akhuan Gonmei Member DMC, for their substantial assistance in the setting the enterprise.
NNC Yimchungru region on dictator leadership: The Naga National Council (NNC) Yimchungru Region on Saturday alleged that the condemnation release issued by Angami region, Lotha region against Kiumukam vice president NNC on the policy of V. Nagi Angami was totally ‘false and baseless and unacceptable’. According to senior leaders CEC NNC, Yimchungru region, Nagaland was not under Nagi’s dictatorship and further said that Nagi has put ‘ism’ among the Yimchungru region and warned that V. Nagi shall be held sole responsible if any misunderstanding arises out of this issue among the region.
TTC appeal to chief engineer NH 61: Tseminyu Town Council has appealed NH 61 chief engineer with the interest of commuters plying within Tseminyu town area and residents of Tseminyu town to clear the drainage system within Tseminyu town area. TTC said absence of drainage has started to damage roads in the town as well as residential areas. Further, in a press release issued by, chief advisor town council stated that the town council would assist the department for clearing the drainage system with the help of department machineries.
Communalization for VHCs, UHCs: Chief medical officer, Kohima held a district level conference on communalization for VHCs and UHCs for Kohima district on May 31 at CMO’s conference hall. Altogether 80 persons attended the conference. The programme was chaired by Dr. L. Ralte, CMO Kohima. Dr. Avino Kire, deputy CMO gave a short presentation on district scenario on communalization. Dr. G. Kemp, joint director, DFHW, exhorted the participants and presented awards to the 3 best performing sub-centres under Kohima district – Rusoma SC, Science college SC and Tsosinyu SC. Dr. Avile Zao, DIO Kohima, addressed the participants on the importance of immunization and Dr. Vezokholu, DTO Kohima shared on prevention and treatment of TB. At the conference, participants reaffirmed two resolutions taken in the last district level training and also to resume the annual baby show.
NCP welcomes new office bearers: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has welcomed the newly appointed office bearers of 52 A/C Longkim – Chare under Tuensang District led by president Yungthrise Sangtam Old – Tsadang village, general secretary Jonglichem Sangtam Holongba village, treasure Chumlise Sangtam Longkim town head quarter and youth wing president Y. Sekyuchem Sangtam Longkim town head quarter. In a press release issued by N. Hotongse Sangtam vice – president NCP, Nagaland unit stated that joining the national party with their own understanding would benefit the public of 52 A/C Longkim – Chare and the Naga people in general.
IPM training on paddy: Sub-divisional agricultural officer (SDAO) has informed that IPM training on paddy was launched at Lilen Phanjang, Samzuram and Old Jalukie villages from May 31 – June 2 respectively.
