IGAR (N) greet Phoms: Maj Gen Sandeep Singh, AVSM, SM, VSM, IGAR (N) and all ranks of Assam Rifles have extended warm greetings to the people of Phom tribe on the occasion of “Phom Day” Festival. IGAR (N) in a press release prayed to the Almighty to keep a benign eye on the “Phoms” and the people of Nagaland to bring about peace, prosperity and tranquility in the days to come. IGAR (N)further wished the tribe to prosper in all spheres and endeavour to push towards everlasting peace in the region.
PMEGP application forms: Prime Ministers’ Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) application forms for Zunheboto district would be issuing on June 8-9 from district industries centre during office hours on submission of two passport photo. Application forms along with necessary documents should be submitted to office before June 15, added functional manager.
Livestock and poultry production unit training: District veterinary & A.H. officer Dimapur has informed all selected beneficiaries/progressive farmers under livestock and poultry production unit during 2010-11 that there would be training on June 9, 10am at district veterinary & A.H office conference hall Dimapur. All selected beneficiaries have been requested to attend the training.
Wokha DPDB meeting deferred: Deputy Commissioner & chairman DPDB, Wokha DPDB meeting for the month of June scheduled on June 9 have been postponed to June 14, 11am at deputy commissioners’ conference hall, Wokha. All DPDB members have been requested to attend the meeting.

FSA new office bearers: Field Staff Association (FSA) PHED Zunheboto unit has elected new team of office bearers for the tenure 2011-2014 led by H. Kahuto Assumi as president, Ihozhe Awomi as vice president, Shikavi Zhimomi as general secretary, Niheto Sumi as join secretary and Ghonito Shohe as advisory.
Career guidance program: A one day career guidance program on food processing organized by Indian Institute of Crop processing Technology, Regional Centre Government of India would be held on June 16, 10am to 4p at IMC Hall, Dimapur. All principals of government and private higher secondary schools have been requested to send 20 students from class 11 and 12 along with one teacher in-charge to attend the training. Participants would be provided refreshment, lunch, note pad and other things.
EUUD emergency executive meeting: Educated Unemployed Union Nagaland (EUUN) has convened an emergency executive meeting on June 9 at its headquarter, opposite census office, HS road Rokabozoo Kohima. All office bearers have been requested to attend the meeting.
KBES missionaries’ get-together: KBES mission and evangelism department would be organizing a get-together program on June 22, 10am at Mission Center Vankhosung. Wokha DPDB meeting postponed: Monthly district planning & development meeting of Wokha district has been postponed to June 14 due to unavoidable circumstances. The new Deputy chairman and parliamentary secretary for irrigation & flood control, geology & mining and border affairs, Y. Patton would chair the meeting. DC Wokha informed that time and venue would remain the same and asked all members attend the meeting.
FGN Yimchungru Region informs on taxation: NNC/FGN of Yimchungru region has informed general public and officers of the four sub-divisions under Kiphire and Tuensang district, Pungro, Kiusam, Shamator and Chessore areas that all regional taxation must be approved from region “Midan Peyu”. “Medan Peyu”, H. ENGOA meeting: Eastern Nagaland Gazetted Officers’ Association (ENGOA) has convened its executive meeting on June 11 at 10am at DUDA guest house to discuss matters related to its general session. All district based joint secretaries and all executive members of ENGOA have been requested to attend the meeting.
ACU condemn torching of Catholic Church: Angami catholic union (ACU) expressed shocked and strongly condemn torching of Catholic Church at Phokhungri village, Meluri sub-division, Phek district by some vested interest persons. The union urged the government to take stringent actions against culprits and bring justice to the affected people.
SUK meeting: Sangtam union Kohima (SUK) would hold its 39th general meeting on June 11 at state Academy hall, Kohima at 9:30 am. All Sangtam residents of Kohima have been requested to attend the meeting.
DNSU 21st biennial general conference: Diphupar Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) would be holding its 21st biennial general conference on June 30 and July 1. The inaugural session would be graced by Khuzholuzo Neinu, minister health and family welfare as chief guest; valedictory session by I. Imkong, MLA as guest and cultural regale by Som Kamei, IFS director NEZCC as guest of honor. Organizing committee would be led by Samuel Sumi, founder general secretary; A. Akum Longkumer, ex-acting president and Zuchumo Mozhui, ex-speaker, while the program committee would be led by Moachiba Aier, convener and members Bohoi Yeptho, ex-secretary games and sports; E. Philip Lotha, ex-president/secretary finance; Moamenla Pongen and Zuthunglo Mahak.
Dept of forest, Kohima WED: The department of forest, ecology, environment and wild life would be organizing a programme on ‘World Environment’ (WED) 2011 under theme ‘Forest : Nature at your service’ on June 7 starting at 9am at PCCF Conference hall Kohima. The program will be chaired by Dr. CL Goel, IFS, PCCF, Nagaland. Tree plantation program at MLA’s Hostel complex Kohima by the officers and staff of the forest department would be the highlight of the day.
HASSU emergency meeting: Highway Area Sumi Students’ Union (HASSU) has convened an emergency meeting on June 7, 1:30pm at HASSU office (WSH building). All executives and unit presidents have been requested to attend the meeting.

NPF AAU welcomes: Naga People’s Front (NPF) Amahator Area Unit (AAU) 69th A/C has welcomed Hurong village under 59th A/C. In a press release issued by Thsithrise Sangtam, president NPF 59th A/C Amahator Area Unit said Hurong village under 59th A/C has been dissolved en block from Congress party led by David T. Sangtam, former secretary, NPCC and secretary vigilance cell NPCC and have joined NPF party in support of C. Kipili MLA, chairman NEMDC Nagaland under the leadership of Dr. Shurhozelie president NPF and Neiphiu Rio Chief Minister Nagaland.
NSGEWA general meeting: A general meeting of Nagaland Senior Govt. Employees Welfare Association (NSGEWA) has been convened on June 15, 11am at Khonoma Building, D. Block Kohima. NSGEWA general secretary T. Ovung has informed all members to attend the meeting to deliberate issues pertaining to ROP in pension, status of pension cases, change of nomenclature and reports.
ATAN meeting: Aggrieved Teachers Association Nagaland (ATAN) would be holding a general meeting on June 10 at 4pm at ISBT, Dimapur. The meeting has been convened pertaining to the delay of examiners result and verdict for the remaining teachers. ATAN stated that there was no reason to withhold the result any further as the government functionaries had given consent and sufficient time to complete the process, and also approved by the minister in-charge.
WSKH general session: The 13th general session of Western Sumi Kukami Hoho will be held on June 29 at Suhoi village. Azheto Zhimomi, MLA and Advisor, Sericulture and Cooperation will grace the occasion as chief guest.
