Fulfill people's expectation: Azheto tells DCCI

The new office of the Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, under its new team was inaugurated by Azheto Zhimomi MLA and Advisor Sericulture and Cooperation Sunday at Ana Ki complex, 2nd floor, Khermahal, Dimapur.
In his speech, Azheto Zhimomi appealed to the newly elected DCCI team led by its president Hokivi Chishi, executives, advisors and officers to be responsible in performance of their respective duties.
He said DCCI has been in existence for many years, but could not live up to public expectations and urged upon the new team to exhibit fulfillment as expected of them.
He further advocated for DCCI to rope in all the frontal business organizations, civil organizations, government, district administration, law and order enforcement team, DMC, NGOs, consumer society and every individual for a common purpose.
On rampant corruption taking place in the society, Azheto pointed that many organizations ran after money and reminded DCCI to focus only on trade, business, provide platform for production to flourish, save the public from harassment and do away with the menace of corruption from the society.
“It’s time now for DCCI to lead the society and perform the duties with responsibility”, Azheto said.
Stating that Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) was the apex body of DCCI, the chief guest asked both the organizations to coordinate so as to shape a better society and let Dimapur, as the commercial hub of state, thrive.
On behalf of DAN government, Azheto said the government was behind DCCI if it carried out its duties with a sense of accountability.
In his speech, DCCI president Hokivi Chishi, thanked the presidents and members of every frontal business organizations in Dimapur, and assured that he would perform his duties with a sense of responsibility, respect and transparency for the trust reposed in him.
To facilitate smooth functioning of DCCI, Hokivi appealed to the state government, district administration, police, DMC, NGOs, consumer society and every individual to extend their support and cooperation towards DCCI.
Describing Dimapur as the nerve trade center of the state, Hokivi said DCCI in tandem with state government and district administration, DMC and others would make efforts to fix the rates commodities and materials with utmost care and consideration. In this regard, he appealed to the state government, particularly legislators of Dimapur district to extend their support towards DCCI.
Hokivi also encouraged the young entrepreneurs to make their mark in the field of trade and commerce and also explore the vast untapped avenues in the private sector.
He also announced opening of DCCI Public Grievances Cell, keeping in mind the vulnerability of the business community.
Hokivi said DCCI recognized women as equal with men in business and therefore appointed Khegoli as its woman coordinator to ensure welfare of all sections of the society.
Also speaking on the occasion, MLA Hewoto Awomi said DCCI should be one of the important offices as Dimapur is the business hub of the state.
He also asked DCCI to deliver justice to the business community as well as the public, and asked the new team and the outgoing office bearers to remove their differences and cooperate with each other towards providing service to the society especially the business community.
President Naga Council Dimapur Savi Liegise said DCCI, DMC, district administration and civil organizations should coordinate together to provide a better society, ample opportunity for business to flourish and provide protection to all.
Congratulating the new team of DCCI, Er. K. Keditsu, chief advisor Dimapur Municipal Council asked DCCI to keep up their commitments and to work for general public interest and also to live up to the expectations of citizens.
He also asked the DCCI team not to let personal interest come in between their work.
Assuring their cooperation and support towards DCCI, Dimapur District Citizens Forum president Hokiye Yeptho asked DCCI to check various ills prevailing in the society.
The inaugural function was attended by K.L. Chishi, MLA and former chief minister of Nagaland, Khesheli, special judge vigilance; Hukato Swu, DC Judicial; former DMC members, Naga Council team, administrative authorities, people from business community, dignitaries and senior citizens.
Meanwhile, DCCI has acknowledged SP Dimapur, Z. Mero for providing unflinching cooperation and assistance towards the organization.
