Chishi said DCCI should let industries boost up and also allow genuine industries to come to Dimapur and its surrounding areas.
Highlighting the present scenario of industries in state, Chishi said many industries have been closed down and those remaining are small and medium scale and as a result we have no production and asked that in this situation how trade and commerce can flourish.
Taking as an example the poor condition of Tuli paper mill, Chishi asked when Jagiroad can flourish so well by collecting bamboos from Nagaland than why not our paper industry can flourish.
We have many weavers and blessed with handicraft products but today with modernization many of our valuable practices are disappearing, he lamented.
In regard to all these Chishi said Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industries which has been formed to look after or focus on commerce and industries should now encourage local producers instead of bringing things from outside the state.
We have very fertile soil in Dimapur and have been blessed with indigenous products and agriculture and now Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industries should encourage the traders with our indigenous products, agriculture and handicrafts, he said.
