Science seminar in Zunheboto
DIMAPUR: District level science seminar would be conducted on August 2,11am at Government High School Zunheboto. District Education Officer, Education Department, would be organizing the programme on the theme, ‘Chemistry for Human Welfare: Promises and Concerned’. In this regard, all government high school and private high school/government and private high school have been informed to submit names of two participants to represent their schools on or before July 25 to District Education Officer (DEO) Zunheboto.
CTC notice to dismantle illegal structures
DIMAPUR: Chumukedima town council (CTC) has issued notification on removal of illegal buildings, boundary walls etc., within the perimeter of 20ft from the middle of the road along Khuova road.
CTC advisor Thepfulhoutuo Shuya in a press release has asked all concerned to remove illegal structures within one month from the publication of this notification, on or before August 7. Failing to comply with the notification, CTC said the competent authority would be compelled to take its own course of action as per provision of the law.
Children music fest
Dimapur: Education and communication (NBCC) along with Kids Worship Centre (KWC) would be organizing a 3 days children music festival at Sumi Baptist Church Dimapur from July 5-7.Competitions for the age group of 14 years below are violin, keyboard, drums, classical guitar, solo (song), children’s choir and indigenous. Those wanting to participate may collect the form from the office of KWC, River Belt colony, Dimapur or contact 9862352344.
SBI Kohima celebrates ‘Bank day’
KOHIMA: State bank of India (SBI), Kohima branch celebrated ‘Bank day’ on July 1. As part of its celebration, S.H. Leo, assistant general manager along with other functionaries of Kohima branch visited Zeputou Orphanage & Destitute centre, Kohima and distributed sweets and food items to all the children. In the year 2007 SBI Kohima branch donated a vehicle (Maruti Van) to this orphanage.
Yimchunger region supports Gen Khole
DIMAPUR: GPRN/NSCN regional workers under Yimchunger region have declared to extend support to the appointment of new chairman Gen Khole.
A press release issued by GPRN/NSCN ‘Kilo kilonser’ Hothrong Yimchunger on behalf Yimchunger region stated that commitment and loyalty would always be behind the leadership of Gen Khole and N. Kitovi Zhimomi.
GPRN/NSCN further added that Yimchugner region chairman had been bribed by Khaplang group. However, the rest of the workers were intact and fully committed as before.
SHN plea to underground organizations
Dimapur: While seriously observing the prevailing situation in and around Zunheboto town, Sümi Hoho Nagaland (SHN) has appealed to different underground organizations to restrain themselves in order to avoid unwanted situations as the Sumis prepare to celebrate their premier festival Tuluni on July 8.
Further, Sümi Hoho president has convened an emergency executive council meeting on July 5 at 12 noon at Zunheboto. All executive members have been informed to attend the meeting.
New library
Dimapur: Wokha Village Students’ union (WVSU) inaugurated a library on July 2 with Rovilatou Mor, deputy commissioner, Wokha and Benri E/rui, social worker as chief guest and special guest respectively.
Rovilatou Mor, DC Wokha exhorted on the importance and the role played by library in moulding and shaping the student’s personality. He also urged the students’ body to be self dependent and responsible for the smooth functioning and development of the union. He also encouraged the students to keep themselves updated with the latest happening of the world.
Female health workers result
DIMAPUR: Female health worker written examination result 2011 held on June 25 has been declared. Tuluni at Zbto
Dimapur: Sumi Hoho has informed that Sumi Tuluni celebration would be held from July 7 and 8 at Zunheboto town.
The general meeting would be held on July 7 at 1pm and main celebration on July 8 from 9am onward on the theme “Peace, Unity and Reconciliation”.
The organizing committee, Sumi Hoho, said the celebration will be graced by Isak Chishi Swu as Tuluni Father, followed by exhortation by Kitovi N Zhimomi.
The program would also be enlightened with greetings from H. Hesso, President Sumi Hoho, HS Rotokha on behalf of Senior Citizens, Aheto Zhimomi, Chairman, SBC, Tokheho Yepthomi, MLA and leader of opposition and G Kaito Aye, minister for road and bridges .
The organizing committee has requested resource persons to speak solely for welfare and uplift of the Sumi’s in particular.
DDCF condemns string of fatal attacks in Dmu
DIMAPUR: Dimapur District Citizens’ Forum (DDCF) has condemned the attack on Hazadisa villagers on June 17 by the villagers of Khekiho village, the attack on United Naga village (Inavi) and bomb attack at Y. Enterprise at 3rd mile on June 30. DDCF stated that no form of violence could ever bring any positive input in the society and stated that “loss of properties is loss of economy of the people which affect the life of the people”.
The forum has called upon every citizens of Dimapur district to restrain from all forms of violence and to be more vigilant in ushering peace in Nagaland particularly in Dimapur. DDCF further conveyed sympathy to the bereaved and affected families.
KKYS flays grenade blast
Dimapur: Kulnu Khel youth Society (KKYS) Jakhama village has condemned the bomb blast on June 30 at 3rd mile, Dimapur. KKYS while stating the injured were two of its active members, Kelethüto who played Indian football in the international level and also Jakhama village sports secretary and his younger brother Asa Khazo member of Rotaract International Club, Kohima, urged the authorities’ in-charge to take immediate action as per the law and deliver justice to the victim at the earliest.
SABC seminar cum workshop
Kohima: Sumi Aphuyemi Baptist Church (SABC), Kohima women department organized Seminar cum Entrepreneur workshop at the Church premises on June 24 and 25.
The seminar cum workshop was organized to impart knowledge on how to make and produce different products with locally available raw materials.
Ghovili Achumi, project director and her team from co-operation department were the resource persons. Visheli J. Achumi and Nivili Shohe were the resource persons on the art of cooking, baking and dessert preparation. Women department expressed gratitude to all the resource persons and co-operation department for making the programme a grand success.
LA speaker to attend 5th SAARC: Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) speaker Kiyanilie Peseyie would be attending the 5th SAARC speakers and parliamentarians conference to be held from July 9-11in New Delhi. The Conference will deliberate upon two themes: “Consolidating Democracy: Strengthening Trust between Parliament and the People” and “Sustainable Development in SAARC Countries- The Way Forward”. The speaker would also attend the 57th commonwealth parliamentary association briefing meeting on July 12 at New Delhi.
AHoD, HoDs meeting: Meeting of administrative head of departments (AHoD) and head of departments (HoDs) has been convened on July 7, 1pm at the secretariat conference hall, Kohima. Chief secretary to the government of Nagaland Lalthara informed that the meeting would discuss agenda on works distribution for celebration of independence day at Kohima, progress of e-governance in Nagaland, procedure for writing ACR, APAR in the new format, streamlining HIV and AIDS policy with a view to help people living with HIV and to deliberate on using the services of NEDFI as third party monitor for grant scheme where such third party monitor was required.
UBCA 2nd annual youth conference: United Baptist Churches Association (UBCA) would be organizing its 2nd annual youth conference from July 13-15 at Life Spring Corner under the theme ‘Unite and seek’. Rev L. Hevuto Awomi, ex-secretary UBCA, Rev YT Lotha, president UBCA, Rev. Dr. Khasheto Aye, secretary mission evangelism and pastor Richard Mech, secretary youth UBCA would be the speakers. Further, UBCA would be organizing a choir and solo competition on July 15 with TL Merry, vice president NPF Nagaland as the chief guest. All Churches under UBCA NEI have been requested to attend the conference.
ANCSF meeting: All Nagaland Cooperative Societies Federation (ANCSF) has convened a meeting on July 6, 11am at its office, PWD junction Kohima with regard to ICDP and NCDC.
Lost and found: Sub-Urban Police Station, officer in-charge has informed that on July 3, one VI.P box belonging to Kungthuile, containing important documents was recovered from Signal bosti. Rightful owner may collect the same from sub-urban police station Dimapur.
PPVC on EPIC 2nd phase: Padum Pukhuri Village Council (PPVC) has informed that second phase of voters identity card at Padumpukhuri village would be held from July 7-10, 8am to 4pm at council hall. Those who failed to take photographs in the first round may get it done in the above mentioned dates.
Wokha district 2nd phase EPIC and photo roll: Deputy Commissioner and district election officer, Wokha has informed EPIC and photo roll 2nd phase under Wokha district would be held from July 2 to 27. All electors under Wokha district have been requested to contact respective BLOs/administrative officers and get photographed.
7th Kiyeto youth day: Kiyeto youth Christian fellowship would be organizing its 7th youth day on July 13 at Kiyeto village, Dhansiripar sub-division Dimapur under the theme ‘freedom with responsibility’. Khakheli I. Jimo, women pastor, Dimapur Sumi Baptist church would be the speaker.
Graduate, under graduate teachers informed: Director, directorate of school education Kohima, has informed all candidates of graduate and under graduate teachers that appointment orders would be issued from directorate of school education, Kohima for Kohima, Dimapur, Peren, Wokha, Mokokchung, Phek on July 6 and for Longleng, Zunheboto, Mon, Tuensang and Kiphire on July 7 during office hours.
Tritiya Sopan testing camp: Zunheboto district Bharat scouts and guides organized a district level Tritiya Sopan testing camp on June 4 at PHED compound Zunheboto. Altogether 140 scouts, guides and officials attended the camp. Meanwhile, Zunheboto district scouts and guides have appreciated district executive officers for their cooperation and support towards the camp.
JNVST admission: District education officer, Phek has informed that Jawahar Navodaya Vidhyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) 2011 admission to Class VI would be held on July 10, 10am to 12noon at GHS Pfutsero, GHSS Chozuba and GHS Meluri. Candidates may collect admit cards from their respective centre superintendents, head master or head mistress.
KGSU meeting: Kuhuboto Ghakhu Students’ Union (KGSU) has convened a meeting on July 6, 11am at the residence of its banker, at Kuhuboto town. All executive members have been requested to attend the meeting.
ANPSTA executive meeting: All Nagaland Pre-Service Teachers’ Association (ANPSTA) has convened an executive meeting on July 17, 10am at Capital Hotel, Kohima. All executive members have been requested to attend the meeting. DPE general meeting: Dimapur Pangti Ekhung (DPE) has convened its half yearly general meeting on July 9, 9am at Lotha Hoho Ki, DC Court junction. All members have been requested to attend the meeting.
PWD colony panchayat appeals: PWD colony panchayat has appealed to the residents of the colony to use disinfectants/phenyl while draining out septic tank etc., in the colony to avoid odor. Further, the panchayat has informed residents not to tap electricity illegally and to abide by the rules for the interest of the colony.
SCLF intercessory prayer programme: Surumi Church Leaders Fellowship (SCLF) has informed all its members working under different fields or associations that it would be conducting intercessory prayer for entire Surumi public living in different towns or places on July 7 from 4am onwards. All office bearers and advisors have been requested to attend the prayer session and to reach the village by July 6. Other registered members including theological students working and studying within and outside Nagaland have also been requested to join in prayer from their respective places on the same date and time. Any Surumi public living at other town and wishes to join the prayer session have been welcomed and are asked to consult Surumi leader(s) working in their church or town.For any prayer request from Surumi public have been asked to contact the chairman at 9863507396 and secretary 9436324388 on or before July 6.

KDVA meeting: District volleyball association (KDVA) has called for a meeting of new and outgoing office bearers on July 5 at 3pm at IG Stadium, Kohima. During the meeting, important issues and matters would be discussed including the formal handing and taking over programme. All members have been requested to attend the meeting.
LMRSU meeting: Lotha Middle Range students’ Union (LMRSU) has convened 3rd presidential meeting on July 17,11am at KSU Office Wokha Town. All unit presidents have been requested to attend the meeting.
GMDICK interview: General Manager District Industries Centre, Kohima (GMDICK) has informed applicants of Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) for the year 2011-12 under Kohima district that interview would be conducted at DC’s conference hall, Kohima on July 12 and 13, 9am. The interview for District Industries Centre (DIC) would be conducted on July 12 and KVIB on 13 and no separate calling letter would be sent. Candidates have been requested to submit original documents at the time of the interview.
CCLC meeting: Chokhri Chakhesang Literature Committee (CCLC) has convened meeting on July 5, 10am at CCLC office, Bayavu hill, Kohima. All executive council officials, committees, sub-committees and area representatives have been informed to attend the meeting.
Wokha DPDB postponed : District Planning & Development Board meeting Wokha district has been postponed to July 11 due to unavoidable circumstances. Deputy Commissioner, Wokha Rovilatuo Mor informed that venue and time would remain the same and has requested all members to take note of the changes and to attend the meeting.
Sumi Hoho emergency meeting: Sumi Hoho has convened an emergency executive council meeting on July 5 at 12 noon in Zunheboto. All executive members have been informed to attend the meeting positively.
KAPO condemns carjacking: Kuzha Area Public Organization (KAPO) has condemned the unlawful carjacking and damage of the vehicle of Veheshu Medeo, working President, NPF Phek Division on June 29. KAPO taking note of dastardly act appealed to the authority to take action on those involved.The organization also appealed to the authorities to be vigilant in such matters in the days to come and spare no efforts to prevent the same unlawful activities.
