GPRN/NSCN Tuesday claimed that ceasefire agreement which it had entered with the Centre in April 2001 was through the initiative of its “ato kilonser” N. Kitovi Zhimomi, saying: “Hence, the question of S.S. Khaplang a Burmese does arise as his sanctuary does not fall under the purview of the Cease-Fire that is across the international border.” An emailed statement by MIP, GPRN/NSCN said ceasefire was made so that atmosphere conducive for peaceful dialogue to resolve the Indo-Naga political issue could be expedited.
