Pork meat per kg would now cost Rs.130 in the state capital with immediate effect. This was decided during the joint meeting of Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) with Butchers Union, Kohima (BUK) on Tuesday.
KMC administrator Alung Hangsing in a press statement said the joint meeting decided that butchers should maintain clean butcher staff, should use a white apron, and use a standard weights/digital machine. Both the KMC and BUK also prohibited tempering of weight.
The meeting also resolved to penalize violators with cancellation of trade license permit and security deposit would be forfeited without any information.
Customers have been informed to lodge complain to butchers union president at contact no- 9436000730, 9856460957, Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) office 0370- 2290316 and 2290317 for redressal.
Meanwhile, Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) coordination meeting of advisors, Kohima Municipal Council with all Panchayat/chairman, secretaries within the jurisdiction KMC has been convened on June 24, 11am at KMC Conference hall.
The meeting has been organized for consultation on de-centralization of sanitation, allocation for vehicles and government’s proposal of mass social work.
