DSSU general conference

The 36th general conference of Dimapur Sumi Students’ Union (DSSU) under the theme ‘Essence of the age” is being held at Town hall, Dimapur.
The conference, which is a two day event, witnessed inaugural cum cultural regale on the first day (June 24). Literary session and valedictory session would be held on the second day (June 25).
Speaking at the programme as chief guest, engineer Ghukhuyi Zhimomi of irrigation and flood control said the youth of today are well educated and intelligent who have been created by God with immense love and therefore urged them to glorify God while still young.
“Where are you going to place yourself today?”, asked Ghukhuyi and encouraged the students to armor themselves with good education in this competitive world.
Describing student life as a transitional period, he said one must build up their career with much dedication and hard labor.
He advised students to plan their life in a systematic way so as to enjoy the fruits of their labor at a later age and disclosed a “simple pass” result would not lead a person anywhere.

Further, Zhimomi said that in this changing generation, one should follow the latest development but also reminded them to keep their identity intact.
Earlier, indigenous song was presented by New Life Bible College.
In the cultural competition, Hikato Achumi Salt Christian College was declared the winner, Zekiye Swu City College as runners up.
In ‘Atuna Kupu’, police colony bagged the first position while Walford colony and Discipleship Bible College bagged second and third position respectively.
