Uniform for Kma bus drivers soon

Superintendent of Police, Kohima, Rothihü Tetseo on Thursday urged the All City Bus Owners Union Kohima (ACBOUK) and City Bus Drivers Union (ACBDUK) to properly maintain their buses and provide the best possible services to the people.
City bus services being the cheapest mode of transport available in the state capital have ample scope for improvement which could benefit both the service provider and the commuters. SP Kohima said this while exhorting on the benefits and scopes of improving the Mini Bus Services in capital Kohima town at the All City Bus Owners Union Kohima (ACBOUK) and City Bus Drivers Union (ACBDUK) joint meeting held at LCS building Thursday afternoon.
While stressing on the important role of drivers in maintaining traffic regulation, he urged the union to maintain discipline and decency and requested the owners as well as drivers that their motive should not be to earn only but to provide the best services to the people. In this regard, he also insisted on introducing uniform for city bus drivers which would be introduced soon when the design and colour are selected and finalized by the Regional Transport Authority.
Dy. SP (Traffic) Melite Kapfo who also spoke on the occasion enlightened the city bus owners and drivers on various traffic rules and regulations. On the other hand, ACBOUK and ACBDUK also expressed various grievances including blocking of demarcated bus parking by private vehicles and taxis and also taxi luring bus passengers.
While talking to Nagaland Post, Dy. SP (Traffic) assured to look into the problems faced by the city bus owners and drivers. He however assured that at the ground level, necessary directive would be issued to traffic police personnel to be more responsible and try to solve the problem at the earliest.
