All Nagaland Industrial Entrepreneurs Federation (ANIEF) general meeting on June 22 at Kohima was attended by its executive office bearers, district representative and individual industrial entrepreneurs of small scale industrial (SSI) units through out the state. A press release issued by president, Povotso Lohe said the meeting deliberated and reviewed the latest position regarding the pending cases of around 5,300 industrial units all over the state under both central transport subsidy and capital investment subsidy, which cases were duly cleared by the State Level Committee (SLC) for the year 2007, 2008 & 2009 under the state department of industries & commerce.
The meeting also expressed serious concern over delay in payment to around 5,300 units causing financial hardship in running their units and thus hampering the industrial growth in Nagaland since there is no big industry in the state and a good number of families are depend on SSI. The meeting observed that there were vested interested people who have been continuously campaigning against release of funds under the scheme by way of lodging complaint letters one after another to the government of India, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, New Delhi since December 2007 till date for their own interest.
The Federation cautioned those elements working against the interest of general public particularly the industrial entrepreneurs to immediately refrain themselves from doing so, or the federation would be compelled to take the matter to the street for justice and fair play, added president.
Meanwhile, ANIEF has urged state government, particularly department of Industries & Commerce to put more efforts for early release of funds under the scheme for three years. ANIEF reiterated its full support and cooperation to the state government and Industries and Commerce department towards clearing the pending cases and successful implementation of various schemes under it upholding the declaration of ‘Year of entrepreneur’ by state government of Nagaland to help the educated unemployed in the state.
