Entrepreneurs Union Kiphire District (EUKD) while lauding the state government for declaring year 2010-11 as “Year of entrepreneur” has stated that ‘year of entrepreneur’ should not be diverted to central sponsored schemes like PMEGP or any other existing schemes.
Under year of entrepreneur 1000 numbers of educated unemployed youths covering 11 district of Nagaland were selected where government sponsored entrepreneurs were selected to attend EDP training covering 11 districts considering batch wise.
However, the union stated that trained entrepreneurs could not ascertain the actual policy of the state government for implementation of the schemes and therefore revealed selected entrepreneurs would be left stunned if “Year of Entrepreneur” failed.
EUKD said the government had intended to accommodate trained entrepreneurs under PMEGP scheme of KVIC and directed nodal department for implementation. But lamented PMEGP scheme was centrally sponsored scheme whereas the ‘Yyear of entrepreneur’ was purely a state government’s programme. “So, this could have proved that the state government is trying to fool the entrepreneurs, as the central sponsored PMEGP scheme exists before declaring the year of entrepreneur”, stated union president Thsingdongre and general secretary R. L. Rechong.
EUKD appealed to government to take up appropriate steps to introduce ‘new scheme’ especially for the selected 1000 entrepreneurs at the earliest so that the ‘Year of entrepreneur’ was fruitful. Kiphire district entrepreneurs union has appealed to speed up the formation of entrepreneurs union in the respective districts and to express the views and problems to the state government for successful implementation relating to year of entrepreneur.
