Dimasas, Kacharis condemn attack

Nagaland Dimasa community and Kachari Tribal Council Nagaland (KTCN) have condemned the attacks on Hazadisa villagers on June 12 and 17 by Khekiho villagers and the continuous land encroachment since 1992.
They also criticized the police department for remaining mute and failing to arrest attackers responsible despite knowing the fact that they came from the neighbouring Khekiho village. Dharm Girisa president DYON, the Dimasa community has urged the Government of Nagaland to protect the rights of properties and lives of minorities in Nagaland and also demanded compensation for the damage caused by Khekiho villagers. Further, DYON also appealed to the state government, GPRN and the responsible authority to initiate the boundary demarcation between the villages in the presence of Azheto Zhimomi, MLA 3 Dimapur III A/C; SDO (C) Dhansiripar sub division, Dimasa Public Organization Nagaland and Dimasa GB Union Nagaland.
Meanwhile, Kachari Tribal Council Nagaland (KTCN) in a statement issued by Joseph Mech, secretary information and publicity, urged the district administration to book the miscreants and award exemplary punishment as per the law of the land. The council also expressed gratitude to the NSCN (I-M) for acting on time and preventing the situation from bad to worse and booking four of marauders by awarding befitting punishment.
