Financial Inclusion Camp held at Nahira Gaon, Kamrup

A Financial Inclusion Camp was conducted by State Bank of India, North Eastern Circle at Nahira Guimara Anchalik High School, Nahira Gaon, Dist. Kamrup (R).
The programme was attended by Pratip Chaudhuri, Chairman, A. Krishna Kumar, Managing Director and Anjan Barua, Deputy Managing Director, State Bank of India, Corporate Centre, Mumbai. R. K. Garg, Chief General Manager, P. K. Gupta, General Manager, Network - I and B. J. Sharma, General Manager, Network - II,
State Bank of India, Local Head Office, Guwahati also participated in the programme. The camp was attended by more than 300 villages from Nahira and nearby villages.
The top executives of the Bank highlighted different schemes in respect of agriculture loans for the benefit of the farmers. They have requested the farmers to avail loans for agriculture from banks and reap the benefit of the interest subvention permitted by Govt. of India and Govt. of Assam in respect of Agricultural crop loan.
The Chairman in his speech highlighted the availability of huge potential in the State of Assam in the agricultural sector for fulfillment of 2nd Green Revolution offing in the State of Assam. He has also mentioned that SBI has already covered 336 villages out of 399 unbanked villages with a population of more than 2000 in Assam, allotted to SBI.
The managing director highlighted the interest subvention scheme to the farmers present and educated farmers with innovative products of State Bank of India in Agri Finance. The Chairman of the Bank also flagged off first Mobile Financial Literacy Van at the village for spreading financial literacy among the villagers.
